Playing catch-up as I wasn't able to work the simulcast into my schedule. I'm up to Ep2 and as a fan of the original I've liked it so far. Ep1 was depressing in that way only Hell Girl can be with misunderstandings sending a innocent person to hell while the true perpetrator gets off scot-free. I'm not sure I liked the ending of Ep2. I did enjoy Ep2 up until the ending. The occasional redemption story in the Hell Girl universe isn't a bad thing. The ease with which Haru accepted her fate seemed off given all that had happened up to that point. Like the writers just wanted an excuse for Hell Girl to do her thing and have a new candle. I'll think I'll be head cannoning it with a happy ending.

I'm looking forward to the next few episodes of new material. I was disappointed to learn it later turns to repeats from previous seasons. Though it's been a while since I've seen the older stuff so I'll paint the silver lining on.

Episode 2 ran with aphorism "Love and hate are two sides of the same coin" and crashed headfirst into a wall. I found the reactions and thoughts of everyone becoming more nonsensical as its hits its climax, and while I do appreciate the commentary effort, it seems like it does not know what it even wants to say.

I have been overall disappointed by these episodes, with 4 not angering me in any way, while still being pleasing.

1. Hackneyed storyline we have already seen from previous episodes, including the very first episode from season 1.
2.Nonsensical
3.Nonsensical responses, confusing communication of situation, and an inconsistent of the brother's care in the end. This is a genuine slap in the face, piled on with a completely generic damnation scene.
4. A great episode, with a cute rapport of almost romantic kinship between the elderly women and the old man. This episode, while not flawless, did accomplish many of the things that I would say makes a great Hell Girl episode.

5 & 6. Interesting background on Michiru, but there is a flaw I always hated of this two part arc.

I suppose it's been so long since I've seen Hell Girl I'm just glad to get a chance to watch Ai and her cohorts again.

That unblinking stare still creeps me out.

Still lagging behind. Just finished Ep4. I almost feel like I should watch it again just because I'd forgotten who Tsugumi was and once I realized it a lot of the story suddenly made sense. "Sensei" was quite the stud. I'm trying to recall an episode getting to see that side of him before.

Yuzuki Ai's replacement in S3 and Akie her friend who is an innocent sent To Hell A Key intro to both

But the EP is about Akira Yuzuki's friend who has a crush on an older woman
Mitsuko and her husbans beats her for being friends with Akira

Akira summons Hell Girl abd the contract is explained BTW Ai in the soccer poster but Yuzuki see Akira too !

Same eyes as Ai when Yuzuki talking to Akira

Akira tries to get Mitsuko to run away she says no but her husband shows up throwing Akira around then abussing his wife Akira pulls the string not knowing the torment Yuzuki goes through to become Hell Girl

One of the better revenge scenes

After Akira is told to go home by Mitsuko and come back the next day but she is gone and he finds a photo of her husband and herself happy opening the store

In the long run she loved her husband as Akira is dismayed

Akira is a junior high school student who has a crush on Mitsuko. She is a middle-aged woman who works at an electronic appliance store. He is not comfortable with the way Mitsuko is treated by her husband, Seiji. Akira tries to persuade her to leave him.

Hell Girl Fourth TWILIGHT EP 12Stray Inari

I feel sorry for Kaede as she was pretty much bullied by Nishino to kiil the college student to keep her popularity / when Nishino lied about him being a stalker.

I finally finished Ep6 which is really all I care to watch and I'm left scratching my head. Michiru spends the entire episode fighting against becoming a/the Hell Girl and then suddenly decides to become a/the Hell Girl.

Wha?

I've watched the episode twice just to see if I missed something and there's nothing I see to explain the sudden change of heart.

Also, in the final scenes when Michiru mentions heaven to Ai and Ai doesn't seem to know what it is is that supposed to imply that even after paying her penance she's still hell bound? Or has being Hell Girl for some 400 years erased the idea of heaven from her mind?

Gotta agree with you there. Very disappointed in this serving of Hell Girl. feels like it's trying to rest on it's laurels instead of work for our engagement.
