My biggest issue on all this is how CR won't say anything about it.

I don't recall if CR has ever officially commented on licensing for a show they didn't obtain. I also don't recall any other anime service doing so.

In the end, knowing the reason wouldn't make the series magically appear on CR, but it would no doubt lead to a lot of Monday morning quarterbacking.

I never claimed that it was something done all the time, nor did I claim it would magically make everything work out. All I was saying is that I would like them to say something, regardless of how common/uncommon it is for them to do so.

I can't speak for everyone else, but for me at least, knowing exactly what's going on beats speculating, no matter how unpleasant the truth may be.

Not quite sure what you mean by "Monday morning quarterbacking", but I feel like it's kinda happening regardless. Again, though, I have no idea what you actually mean with that phrase, so I could very well be wrong.

. If we don't know we don't know, let's not speculate. In a way I'm sort of glad they aren't making any comment, since if it's bad news i.e. "Symphogear is not coming" it's just going to lead a bunch of people to watch it illegally rather than wait. It's not like this is the first popular anime to not be aired over here, inexplicably.

Humans are emotional beings. We like having closure, even if it's a bit unpleasant. Until CR says something (which they probably won't, and I fully realize that), speculation is all we have. "Oh, well don't speculate. Just be magically ok with not knowing." Ok, YOU might be ok with it, but you obviously don't love Symphogear with anywhere near the same passion I do. I can't just magically accept everything and move on. I need to know, even if I have to assume a lot of things. Logically I should just forget it, but fuck logic.

Oh, and protip: people have a hard time taking your preaching seriously when you don't practice it yourself. You're going around telling everyone to "stop speculating!"....even after literally the very first line in your very first post in this thread was speculation So....no. No I will not stop speculating. Practice what you preach, then maybe I'll consider letting you in my home to talk to me about the gospel.

And I disagree with your last point. Saying "we can't get it" is going to drive people to watch it illegally instead? Uh, news flash: people already are. And "instead of waiting"? Waiting for what, exactly? If CR's not going to get the licence, what's there to wait for? For them to not get the licence? uh...ok, but we've already waited for that.

Last year a big one was Macross Delta (blame: Harmony Gold), which was topping Newtype reader polls while it seemed like hardly anyone here (in the west) knew it was happening. Then the Quora question "What kinds of anime are popular in Japan but not America?" got an answer claiming Re:Zero, and it got voted up to top answer.

Come to think of it, Macross Delta and Symphogear are very similar in the grand scheme. It's a frustrating niche to like.

I don't recall ever encountering the phrase "Monday morning quarterbacking" before either. On the internet, it feels nostalgic to be one of the young ignorants for a change. (Whereas that's my default status in real life, since I work at a retirement community.) One of my first online friends, from a SimCity forum, should be about 83 now. Y'all are so young.

I Agree about Marcross Delta what a legal mess with Harmony Gold

Ok I feel i should say my actual thoughts on why crunchyroll doesn't have it. I've been following symphogear since it came out. I first watched the first season on Funimation's website back in 2012 when they were simulcasting it. The next season never showed up on funimations website so i found it on the dark side of the internet. Then a miracle happened and Crunchyroll picked up the third season and the rest of the series so i happily marathoned it so i could support it.

Now what i think happened here is that Funimation can't really dub Symphogear so now that they are partners with crunchyroll its affecting crunchyrolls priority to get it. Trying to dub Symphogear would take an enormous amount of talent to get right, I mean they would need atleast 15 or so people who could sing. And I believe that funimation would take every effort to make it as good as it could be but knows that it would be extremely hard /expensive to do. So while i believe crunchyroll wants to get Symphogear AXZ funimation is telling them its not a priority and that's affecting CR's ability to get this license which has become more difficult to get as some of you have said.

I still want to believe that the chance of Symphogear being simulcast here on crunchyroll isn't zero. I want to believe in miracles.

Did funimation dub the singing before? Never seen the show but I know on other shows theyve dubbed they tend to leave the songs in Japanese dubs.

I recall they used to dub a lot of the songs, including sometimes the OPs and EDs, but of late they've been leaving the Japanese songs. In the recent anime Heavy Object when "Oh ho ho", who was being dubbed by Monica Rial, did her singing bit they left it in Japanese. But back in 2012 when she dubbed Shiro for Deadman's Wonderland she did sing there. So maybe they've decided it's not worth the effort?

Yeah I think your right - not seen any anime feature English singing on Funimation as of late. Seven Mortal Sins another example, to be honest I think it's better this way.

The Dark side is thriving / Kakegurui / FATE is being shown along Senki Zessho Symphogear AXZ which has subbed lyrics in cool colors

I feel like I should have a letter of marque in these dark days of anime

Yea, but don't you have to spend a entire day filling forms over and over again and go to random places in order to meet officials for that?

late to find out but I just checked CR, torrents, and a basic search to see if it's on any of the legit streams. nothing about legit streams come up just the fansub sites. someone really dropped the ball on getting a good series

EDIT: was able to find it, not saying how because unfortunately it isn't Netflix or CR, which would be what I'd prefer to use

I'm a patient man but... I think it either comes when it's finished airing or it doesn't come at all which would be disappointing.

For weeks now, i've been checking Summer simulcasts and every once in a while, at least one TBA is there. First there was The Reflection which was already known. Then came Children of Ether which is ok. Then finally, one last series but no, Pikotaro's... I don't bother to write the whole thing since i'm writing this on phone.

I can understand that it's still not here and i don't hate CR for that regardless if it gets here or not. But for now, i guess i'll have to stick to "dark sides" of the internet for now and needless to say, i'm not too fond to that.

For the makers of Symphogear AXZ: If you don't want me to watch your product on CR and get a portion of my subscription to CR, you can rest assurer that I will watch it for free from Pirate Bay. I wanted to support the creators by watching it here on CR, but not if they decide to be a bunch of dickheads and to put it here.
