My first job was working at Game Stop. I didn't mind working there at first but when we got a new manager they were terrible and I didn't want to work there anymore

First job was as an office assistant at a financial office. I'm not doing anything finance related, but it was a small office and my mom worked there and she was not going to let me sit on my butt all summer.

So I started filing and scanning.
And scanning
And scanning

The office was trying to go paperless (and had to) but they couldn't get rid of anything because they were financial documents.

My mom said she hoped that I would be so bored that I'd never want to do that type of work again.
She succeeded

I worked for student government at my local uni as a graphic designer and marketing assistant.
I made a lot of (bad) posters, talked at students about events, and ran booths.

At times it was a lot of fun! There were actually a lot of concerts run every year, and our city is large enough to have mildly popular musicians visit so it was pretty nice. Sometimes we'd be promoting events or services, and I would be able to talk to lots of students and give them cool free knick knacks like pen lights and tickets to small free meals at the fast food places around the uni.

At other times, it was me sitting in large conference room at 8:30 pm on mondays, listening to older students yell at each other about campus politics. I think there was a lot of talk about where funding was going. I was very lost.

Hakuotter you had a very respectful, senpai-esque first job. It's good that you got paid, I would have thought that anyone in student government would be getting a crash course on slave labor.

My first job was as a simple pizza delivery girl while I was in my mid teens. The pay was good, after tips, but I was dreadfully incompetent and my boss was a washed up - chain smoking - moron.

Also I'm old so I was delivering pizza in the pre-navigation era where you had to use a street almanac to find out where the customer is.

Ahhh the late 2000s...

Those were dark times.

But if you wanna get technical in 8th grade, I worked at an extended day program where I made a very small amount of $, but it was cool and rewarding hanging with kids

A newspaper correspondent for city council meetings. I like traveling from one place to another, but I hated how some meetings would take way too long, or how some councils try to dictate what I can or can't write.
