SUBBED ONLY

I think anime should be watched subbed. period. Growing up in USA Dragonball Z dubbed on toonami is an exception because I was young and didn't know any better.

But now being anime fan. I encourage everyone to watch all anime subbed. The feeling, originality, and character is most felt in subbed. Its like watching a french film dubbed with american translation. its just not the same and its almost insulting to the original.

Like how i believe we should watch a foreign film with subtitles, I also think Anime Deserves to be watched in SUB
you can learn the culture and learn the language as well.

I watch anime in dub when it's available. I'm not a weeb (I'm jking, you like what you like).

I think the reason people like sub more is because Japanese isn't their native language. So they don't understand the little vocal variations that language has. The variations that make a voice actor good or cringy. Stuff like that.

No, I always prefer the dub when available. The exceptions so far being the World Trigger and Log Horizon ones. (Well specifically bad dubs in general as I can't stand sitting through those.) I nitpick these things. Obviously I watch subbed beforehand as it's usually the first available.

I just wish that dubbed came out at same pace, but that would be asking way too much in that studios would have to send the episodes before airing... we all know how that would go these days with everything getting leaked.

I'll just parrot the "as you like" sentiment. Sometimes I like being able to focus more on what's happening versus reading if I'm tired.

I would not hate on anyone who preferred dubbing. It seems like a pathetic attempt at establishing superiority, but I do dislike extreme changes to dialogue and even the effects of localization efforts.

Honestly? After watching the Prison School dub mention Gamergate, despite the fact it is mostly centered in the United States, alongside Miss Kobayashi's Dragon Maid mention slutshaming, alongside the attempt substitute a fucking submarine sandwich for a rice ball, I despise dubbing in a way. Dubbing has made anime more palatable, but it can also be a tool to encourage a semi sort of ignorance by the viewpoint that learning about other cultures would be too off putting.

Fuck this. Is it too much to respect the original work, or to encourage multiculturalism? Things like these reek of ignorance.

Some dubbing are decent, but I am a bit more wary after those dubbing incidents in recent memories.

Each to their own. I prefer subs as I'm hard of hearing and not all dubbing comes with subs but if dubs creates fresh anime fans then I think it should be encouraged.

I can tell you for a fact that I prefer dubs on Japanese games so I can read the text with less focus as I can still hear jist of what's going on and dubs in general are significantly better than they used to be. I also kinds like swearing in mature anime, you don't get swearing in native Japanese outside of tamer stuff like the odd "Baka" which features in any show these days lol.

Don't tell me what to do. If I want to watch dubbed anime, then I'm going to watch dubbed anime.
Deal with it!

So basically, you are saying people shouldn't watch the Japanese dub of RWBY.

Your choice is yours One thing I do sub-dub I find scenes I missed things with sub I cat watch the animation more intently

Some anime eg Pyscho Pass it was hard to understand some of the tech stuuf but when translated better for dub it made sense

I respect the Japanese VA's I even do notes if they had simikiar roles or some of the cast worked together on other animes

So both have their rewards

I just like watching/reading subs version. To me the voices sound a bit more fitting and/or natural. When its put with an english dub, I can never watch more than a minute of it. It just doesn't sound right to me (in my opinion at least).
