Well, this is interesting, especially given that Amazon owns Twitch and we all know how Amazon has been shaking up the anime streaming scene as of late (for worse or better).

Looks like there will be an anime streaming marathon of some of CR's biggest hits starting on July 27. Some titles included are Mob Spycho 100, Yuri On Ice, and Kobayashi's Dragon Maid.

Personally, I'm glad to see Dragon Maid get more exposure but I'm not sure exactly how the standard Twitch crowd will react to this given that there's a Twitch obsession with bashing on pretty much anything anime (or Japan) related. You can even see allusions to this in the press release I linked above.

That's a good question. I'm not aware of any sort of region specific blocking for Twitch, but I also live in a place where that's not often an issue.

It's been updated with the full schedule. Mob Psycho 100, Miss Kobayashi's Dragon Maid, and Yuri on Ice are being shown twice.

Overall, it's a fairly solid line-up of shows. Some trash on there but it's minimal. I still think chat is going to be a garbage fire so if I do randomly tune in at all turning chat off will be the first thing I do.

I can already see the kappa prides during yuri on ice and free! On the contrary I think chat will be hilarious and fun. People just need to not take their anime so seriously.

I find it odd that everyone I have heard talk about the line up feels the need to say there is "bad anime" in it. People tastes are just very different. Believe or not there are people who actually really like "unpopular" or "bad" anime

Twitch.tv is a site where people typically stream live video, usually of video game sessions. They've been branching out to other content lately, but normally a Twitch stream would be someone playing a video game.

Everyone has their own tastes of course but I just feel that with the limited number of shows they are showcasing I'd rather see more largely accepted good than things that are fairly middling. That said, I do think the line up is pretty solid overall and there's only one show I'd call out as not being worth anyone's time regardless of their tastes, though it's fairly obvious why it was included given CR had a hand in it's production/promotion in the first place.

My concern for chat really revolves around the sort of thing you usually see in Twitch chat; not so much the "cheeky" kappa prides and more the extreme amounts of blatant misogyny and homophobia, as well as the tendency to insult anyone who watches anime or doesn't hate Japan. All big Twitch events have this issue and I doubt this one will be any different. To me, it's not so much about taking anime too seriously as chat becoming completely useless for even fun banter.
