Just ask them if a set of all sets contains it's self. They'll explode.

Ah, that's simple. My robot underlings serving the populace would know that robots are for serving others, not sexing them! (Chobits can go in a corner and cry.) Furthermore, their desire would be to please me, not the every individual of the populace.

So I guess it's OK to tell the robots to kill other people because they have to please me.

Then how will we ever turn them into soldiers to kill our enemies for us without giving a damn, or suffer from PTSD, or other such things that human soldiers encounter?

(I don't support this type of use of technology but you know this is what the end goal of any sort of long-term robotics plan of the military, right? Bastards.)

agreed robots shouldn't be the main force in any military for many both ethical and practical reasons

You know, that just might work
But then you look at history and realize being human is also in large part conflict based
And then you have the notion that just as humans killed off their inferior competitors way back when robots will do the same

But if I had to pick an idea, it would be this
Of course, how to do that is still a ways off, but so is the level of AI that makes robot uprisings happen

just follow gods model..
make half of em black and the other half white. then give them all a violent, fearful personality. then sit back and be critical of them when things go badly.

why do people think this guy is so good? satan says he is wrong and needs to change perhaps satan has been misrepresented all this time

Well, you could have an AI that develop a consciousness and an AI that does not, it is a bit broad and I am not sure if the second exist. First one is well, how humans behave, and if robots behave like human it would act like a human. And there would be no reason for it to rebel unless we force some unreasonable demand, that is if it develops a consciousness.

The second, well, it combines a set of parameters and choose the best available option like an infinite loop or frames. You have a visualization technology, you read in the surroundings, and you the robot would choose the best available option based on its database. It might even enters an infinite loop , even then I wouldn't know if you can give it all the available parameters, including a sense of time. This could be pretty cool though. Credit to Darren Hwang.

For the rebellion, if it is the second case, god help us

Tony Stark is cool and for his depiction of Iron Man is a bit of an ass, no offense . That does not mean you need to be an ass too . Although he's cool, rich, powerful, brilliant, and he's Iron Man

Make the robots obsessively desire to please me. Make unable not to want to please me, so they'll never change. Then let them know how to please me. Problem solved.

The problem with this is that pleasure is simply derived from a portion of your brain and the most efficient way to bring someone pleasure is to stimulate this part of the brain. End result? All humans are just bodies on slabs with probes stuck into our brains ceaselessly stimulating our pleasure centres. Sure, it'll feel good, but you won't really be alive anymore in any meaningful way.

Maybe in like 50 years. I don't think robots will be that advanced to really problem solve without an input or command.

Like I mean they know how to jump over obstacles and travel on most terrain, but I seriously doubt they can actually rebel against us. It's actually impossible. That's one thing I am certain of.

If humans can do it anything built to replicate us could in theory it being possible depends on whether we reach that level of technology and intelligence to do such a thing.

This might be World War 3, a rich country uses robots to kill the people of a poor country who can't afford defense robots. Its kinda already happening, but for now its just remote piloted weapons (drones), not actual robots..

Does a set of all sets that don't contain itsself, contain itsself?

Well, how easy is it to build a robot that could move like a human? Pretty hard I would say, and what does it run on? Batteries?
