Is napping at work healthy?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jvT2qEltG6k

People will need that 8 hour of sleep. I would sleep during the 15-minute breaks when i was working 6AM-12AM shift, just don't do it in the front lobby. I was called in for sleeping during my breaks in the lobby (around 10:45PM). I thought it was ok since there was no one there and there was a nice comfy sofa right in front of me

First off i would say it's not a good idea and you will get fired but then again

https://www.nytimes.com/2017/06/23/smarter-living/take-naps-at-work-apologize-to-no-one.html there is a lot of claims that make sense saying letting people nap for a bit increases productivity since they slow down due to being tired which does make a lot of sense when you think about sleep cycles and all that jazz.

Welp, if your job aloes you to do that... sure. But if my employees slept on the job I would fire them.

Only fair since jobs cut into my valuable sleep time and make me tired with all that troublesome 'work'.

I nap too. As long as you get the work done without bugs. My job is more on programming. I get the job done, webform done, the back end SQL to work, have it delivered without bug, and spend the rest of the time napping or surfing on the net. I am not paid to make something creative, as long as I do the systematic error check and SQL. Well, part of the reason I'm getting a bit of a low score on my rating for work lol.

Well let me ask you this, would you work extra or harder if you get paid the same or less than your peers? We all like the idea of advancing to a higher rank, but most of the time the work is pretty stationary. Now slacking off is a different story, we are required to get the work done as a responsibility, when I am assigned my weekly work my nerve is tightened up until I finish the task.

A good balance between work and life and people probably would not have too much to say.

P.S Points taken, could be paid for creative ideas

Getting caught sleeping at work is a firing offense, if you do what I do. Not only does it leave you open to being killed, but it's a liability issue and probably a breach of contract.

I don't go to work to sleep, and if I do, I would be running my own company/business, not busting my balls for some power hungry corporate fuck face.

I work hard for a reason, I've always been a hard worker, but I'll be damned if I fall asleep during work. It's not worth it, it's never worth it unless (like I said) you run the show, and you show your workers that you work even harder to provide for everyone. Not the other way around.

This is why the world isn't working out so well. You have people fucking around to much.

This makes me think of the Sienfeld epi. where George takes naps under his Desk

In japan most workplaces allow their employees to take a nap.

They view it as a sign that you are working very hard and allow it.

There's a guy at work who passes out all the time. I'm talking head tilted back, mouth wide open and snoring. He's gotten in trouble for it a few times. I don't think they'd ever fire him over it.

We fuck with him by entering the office super loud on purpose. Suddenly making noise which startles him awake. He doesn't like it but fuck him. He shouldn't be sleeping on the job.

I take naps all the time. Short ones during work so I can't be missed. I figure if smokers can take 15 minute breaks every hour to destroy their lungs, I should be able to take a 15 minute nap to recharge and make myself more capable for the rest of the work time. I knew all the least used storage rooms I could stretch out in. Always thought about stashing a cot in one.

Then there were the crapper naps. Are crapper naps a thing outside the military? They're exactly as they sound...
Gotta get rested while you can and nobody gonna mess with you in there!

I've had to, a few times. I've fallen asleep whilst walking (for a second or two), and even found myself walking straight into a beam. I didn't like it, but I needed a five to ten minute nap, or I'd have hurt myself. That was when I had tried to go to work the next day after long drives. Of course, it didn't help that, on all occasions, my tasks for the day were either organizing equipment, or putting covers onto condelletes. Talk about monotony. These days, I prefer to take a day off to catch up on my rest.

I'll be starting my new job next week at a nursing home. I'll be working 10 pm to 6 am....I can't promise that I won't fall asleep .-.
