I am moving into high school and I need some outlook into highschool. I believe most students around the world start highschool in grade 9, but in Canada, it is 10. I don't think the curriculum difference will impact things as much. I could also use some general information and advice.

High School is pretty much high school everywhere.

The only advice I can really give is to start thinking about what you might want to do after high school as early as possible. That doesn't mean you have to plot out your entire life, but at least start putting some thought into it. High School is where you start into electives so you can start catering those to what you're actually interested in, and you should take advantage of that.

Also, if you haven't already started doing so, I would suggest looking into volunteering. Some schools actually require it and, even if they don't, it's a good thing to start getting under your belt now.

There isn't much to say as every school is different. Just enjoy your time there and as a previous poster mentioned try and figure out what career/job you would be interested in doing when you are finally out of high school. Look into the job markets for a field you might be interested in. Make sure to really see what kind of job you could end up doing if you studied that, as well as the difficulty of getting said job.

Enjoy your time there, make lots of friends, study hard(not too hard), and you will be in great shape for the future to come.

In the UK you generally enter High School (often called Secondary school here) at grade 6 (called Year 7 in England). You will then stay in the same school until you finish grade 10 (Year 11). Students will then often enter college for grades 11 & 12 (Years 12 & 13). After college many students will then apply to enter university for a degree-level educaction.
