Hey guys, hope you're doing well. I apologize in advance if this isn't allowed.

Anyways, i'm newer into Anime, been watching it since a kid but only the english dubs you saw on YTV. So i'm looking to watch some things I may have missed that are considered the must watches.

List of animes i've watched ( Yes there is a few newer ones ):

- DragonBall (DUB)
- DragonBall Z (DUB)
- DragonBall GT (DUB)
- Inuyasha ( DUB)
- Afro Samurai
- Jojo's 1-4 (SUB)
- Naruto (SUB)
- Naruto Shippuden (Currently on around 150) (SUB)
- Cowboy Bebop (DUB)
- Tiger Mask W (Really behind on it atm) (SUB)

Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated!

I'm not sure if it's allowed or not either, but maybe I can help you narrow down your likes for others who may be a bit better at assisting than myself.

Are there certain things you like to see in an anime? By that same token, are there things you'd rather not have in a show that you watch? Of the shows that you've seen, do you have an absolute favorite or did you enjoy the best?

Probably a slightly less important question, but what country do you live in? Some shows on CR have almost world-wide viewing rights and some do not for varying reasons.

I really enjoy the fighting genre (If that's even a genre). Just like seeing big ol' fights go down. I'm not the biggest fan of animes that revolve around school girls or little girls (Not knocking anyone, just not my cup of tea) But i'm also very interested in "horror" or "mystery" genres when it comes to non-anime.

As for where I'm from, Canada.

I have to try really hard to limit suggestions since our tastes might be different. I think these are all must-watch though.

1. Shirobako - anime about making anime

2. Monthly Girls' Nozaki-kun - comedy about shoujo manga

3. Shin Sekai Yori - dark sci-fi/fantasy about humanity

4. Kids on the Slope - because jazz music

5. Showa Genroku Rakugo Shinju - you get drama performances within the anime

Now if only Crunchyroll had Nichijou...

Oh, totally allowed, though I moved it over to recommendations since that's where threads like this usually go.

As for me, I'd suggest Dusk Maiden of Amnesia for the horror/mystery side of things, and second the rec on Another. Kenshin for the fighting side of things, especially the Kyoto arc.

You want mystery? Monster is your friend. Most psychological, and well thought out complex mystery show ever. Top 5 anime ever. It does have alot of episodes and it is a slow burning show but it's crazy at the same time.

Want good fights? My Hero Academia. This is the quintessential Shonen anime.

Another good "fighting" anime is Samurai Champloo. Hajime No Ippo is another one. The fate series is cool, with Fate/Zero being the "best" to most people. because it's dark and more "adult" for most people.

As for the high school/slice of life shows, most of those shows are trashy. But 2 actual good ones are Toradora, and My Teen Romantic Comedy Snafu (this sounds soooo bad and cliche but it actually has some of the best, snarkiest, and funniest dialogue ever in an anime. Just a smartass show with a no shit giving protagonist.) Genuinely good.

Steins;Gate isn't a mystery or fighting anime per say, but it is a Time Travel anime and it's a modern classic. You'll love it.

Parasyte is a 10/10 action show. Just a fun ride with no thinking needed.

Enjoy :p

P.S Another excellent shonen show is HunterxHunter.
