Anyone else watched Stranger Things before?

I thought the show was great and among one of my favorites. Season 2 trailer is out today. Who else is hyped?

I rather enjoyed stranger things season one and I was quite impressed with proper prop placement, nothing makes me lose interest in something faster than wrong year prop placement. at least it's something to do over the Halloween break. free candy, up most of the night due to sugar rush and then something to binge while you're coming off the sugar high, makes perfect sense to me.

I actually think I liked season 1 a little bit better than season 2 (they're both fantastic though). My only real complaint about season 2 is that I think episodes 6 and 7 should have been swapped. The episode with Eleven meeting her sister was great, but it kind of broke up the action between episodes 6 and 8 in a weird way, like things started really going at the end of 6 but instead of continuing what was going on they took a weird pause in the action so Eleven and her sister could have their little Luke/Yoda moment. And then they went back to continue the main story line in episode 8. It's not as noticeable because you can just binge through the whole thing, but if there were two weeks between the release of episodes 6 and 8 it would have stuck out like a sore thumb.

Finished it a few days ago:

Pros:
-Nails the atmosphere and characters like the first season
-OST is still wonderful
-Setting is still killer

Cons:
-A lot of the new plotlines didn't have much payoff
-Story wasn't as exciting and it didn't have the same mysterious tone
-Felt a bit tacked on in points

Overall: 7/10

Still a ton of fun to watch and if you liked the first, definitely watch this, but nothing about it really changed my mind that this just didn't really need to happen.

Somewhat surprised to see people saying that it was better than the first season. Any elaboration on that?

Sundin13 hit it on the nail.
I thought the first season was far better than the second.
The plot just didn't seem as "impressive" as the first season, seeing as it's basically a repeat of the same person (Will) being the one "in danger".
Some of the character devices they used were overly cliché and didn't have much going for them in light of the events from Season 1.

That isn't to say that it wasn't a good series, just that I felt that it was significantly weaker than the first.
I'd give it a 4.5/10.
If they learn from the last two seasons and understand their demographic a bit more, I think the third season should be better (Season 1 = Yes, Season 2 = Mmkay, Season 3 = ALRIGHT!).
The 80's nostalgia was a hit for me.
I have to say that they really do make sure that every little element is "in era" for the series.

I have to say I enjoyed the first season more, but I still enjoyed the second season. I think because we know what the upside down world is, it wasn't as mysterious as it was this time.

I have a coworker who grew up in the 80s, and the little details he noticed. He looked up, because he didn't think it happened at that time, according to the timeline of the show, but it really did. Even if by a few months. So the attention to detail when things released to the time Season 2 took place at, was pretty cool to hear about from him.

I was really glad that there will be two more seasons! Although I hope they won't ruin everything and show will remain fun and easy peasy to watch.
