Well if you speaking in the new season, CR has a lot of anime geared towards younger audience but overall this season is pretty much the same mix across the board.

OP mentioned Ergo Proxy which I think to be boring pretentious crap with its stupid quasi-philosophical name-dropping.

It is. Kids are an easily accessible market demographic. Teenagers not only have the money, but also the free time in Japan compared to the overworked Salarymen populating many of the adult populations.

I'd advise both of you to not to start a fight. Passive aggression and such are not very adult if you ask me. In any case, I believe the insults should stop before they start.

I think the Vanquished Queens franchise from Queens Blade is particularly popular among the 5 ~ 7 demographic these days.

CR needs to properly tag their anime, a click should separate the Seinen from the Shounen.

Sure, there are some but at times, no. In case of those which have violence, nudity or such, shouldn't they be age restricted? Then again, probably most of the CR user are adults but...

Just wanted to give my point.

By adult anime what do you mean? Lots of the recent more mature shows are indeeed SoL. You not liking them doesn't make them disappear.

Barakamon, Poco's Udon World, Occultic;Nine, Bungo Stray dogs, No.6, Time of Eve etc etc are all *mature* shows to my knowledge. Searching for mature shows isn't that hard. Just open your eyes.

Also anime has always been since forever mainly targeted at mainly teenagers. Hence why so many shonen are adapted. But a show being shonen means pretty much squat really. Stuff like HunterxHunter, My Hero academia, ReLife all cover pretty harsh subject at times.

Basically no, your wrong. Well on the 95% part at least. the proportions really depends on your definition of mature.

crunchy takes what it can get. it's one of the cheapest memberships to get too, and I'm not putting the site down, but CR is like a dixie cup on a string if the rest of the streaming sites are like mobile phones. I'm not sure who is the quickest at getting licenses but that's how it works with shows from other countries, sour grapes if your service doesn't manage to get a show first.

as for most anime though, it's been said time and time again that most shows are for kids or teens, the most "kawaii" shows a mainly for kids and pretty much everything else is for high - school kids, just look at how much anime is set in high school. this is due to two things, but it's one thing before the other - there used to be a lot less anime in japan, the more mature titles got noticed. the problem with anime is that it became popular, after a time where mature titles became cult classics the studios had to make more anime, but the mature titles didn't offer much of a return, mainly because a mature audience doesn't buy stuff like toys and games very often, so the studios have to make a show that's both more accessible to a wider audience, accessible to the right audience, which is important because adults in japan work impossible hours, and is able to push a lot of merch. this led to more teen demographic shows that actually had a merch market, something like Dragon Ball or Dragon Ball z (a lot of character forms means a lot of toys)
then these studios realised holy hell teens in japan are actually watching these shows so now we get an industry that is garbage to work in churning out way too many shows. many of them are for teens, and some of them are garbage shows or bad adaptions, the industry can barely keep up with the consumer anymore.

so yea if crunchy doesn't have any good shows in a season they're too slow and can only get a few of the rest of the shows. remember that Funi and Sentai also dub, so it makes sense for them to get shows that might appeal to the west
