I am wondering if there are some topics that you find fascinating, but think that most people are not interested in whatsoever. Such topics are those that we rarely see on TV, reported on the news or represented in films and video games. They could also be topics that you are passionate about, but have a difficult time talking about them with other people because of their unpopularity, repulsiveness or something else.

My personal experience is that the average person cannot be bothered to do research on things related to history. In school, almost every single one of my classmates did not enjoy history classes, let alone having to study for the exams. You are probably thinking "The teacher did not put enough effort into making the subject seem interesting." While that is a valid point, our teacher never asked for too much when it came to remembering years and dates. She also did not strictly follow the book and standard curriculum. Instead, all she asked of us was to pay attention during classes and to understand the various socioeconomic and cultural issues of each period in history. Names, numbers and battles were secondary. Although I understand that many people only care about the battles and why they do that.

I would love it if you could name the subject, explain your stance and share your experience.

That's asking a little too much from this community in my opinion. I've tried and got little more than one sentence answers.

Anyways... nobody ever cares to learn from history.

Few address the mass stigma society has on certain substances but completely condones other more dangerous substances.

In response to how your stuff on history, that is part of the problem with school
Dates, names, battles mean jack shit to me. But I generally like history. I just prefer the type your teacher taught. It's all relative. I think the way math and science is currently taught is complete garbage for the average person. But I'm a STEM Major; the current way of teaching and material resonated with me. But it doesn't with the average person and the value the average person got out of it was minimal.

As for the question
I really don't know. I love science and math, but the average person doesn't need that much of it.
So I guess learning. I love to learn and explore and experience. Most people nowadays seem to see learning as a means to an end; I learn to get a job to get paid to party/have fun/do whatever.

But I really don't know. People will be people and that means being different.

Music probably. I'm a big fan of music and how it's made, mixing and mastering it, all of that stuff. Also big into to science, cool abstract thoughts of it. But I don't research that like I do music.

I could spend days talking non-stop about ballistic design and theory. For being little more than zippy death metal; bullets and the like are infinitely interesting to me.

Sure you like music but that isn't what I meant. I meant the in depth ideas and concepts behind music. And the production of it. Not just "hey I like listening to music."

I think that would be Game Design for me. I love to work on my own ideas for improving certain games I like, even if I know they will never be implemented. Even if you find someone who's interested in games too, they often care more for the finished product and less about the ideas and insights behind them.

The history of woodwind and brass instruments. I can bore people to tears with this, even other band geeks/music majors.
