Dwanya Hickerson, 21, pleaded guilty to the horrific killing of Dee Whigham – a transgender man – in a hotel room in Mississippi in July 2016.

The couple had been chatting online for a couple of months before they decided to meet in a Best Western hotel near his military base.

But after they had sex Mr Whigham – a hospital nurse - revealed he had been born a man and Hickerson “lost it”, launching a frenzied knife attack on his victim.

The court heard that an autopsy revealed 25-year-old Mr Whigham had been stabbed 119 times in the body and face while his throat was slashed three times.

'and this all could have been avoided if the victim admitted from the start that he is a Transgender. Then the victim could have found true love with someone who take him/her for who he/she is.

Now I am not condoning the crazed stabbing of this person, but their is some blame to be had for not letting possible sex partners know.

The poor transG could have avoided this by admitting what they are before the meeting.

No offense or anything but I agree with Darkphoenix on the part it should of been brought up.

I am transgender (mtf) but would 100% let the other person know when we first meet, If I was doing online dating would put it on my profile, not to mention I am open about being transgender, & I am an honest person. So would never let anyone think I was born female.

I am not sure what his problem is. If the person was hot enough for you to engage in sexual intercourse with them, I do not see the problem. Hot is hot. Are we so afraid of being called gay that we turn homicidal? That being said, it may be a feeling of betrayal after an emotionally intimate moment I suppose. Nothing here justifies murder, but I suppose rage would be due.

Correction: Dee Whigham was a transgender woman, meaning she was born biologically male, but decided to transition into a female.

I reported it, not because I give a shit about the content. Because to my knowledge it is against the rules to simply link an article and quote it without making a point, or stating what you actually intend to discuss.

Closed because

1) as mentioned in one of the replies here, just posting an article without providing any commentary to start discussion is against forum guidelines

2) In addition, in spite of the fact that the article linked to uses the appropriate pronouns, you chose to repeat the statements from the article in an altered fashion -- changing the pronouns and honorifics. If that was intended to be your commentary to starting discussion (or even if it wasn't), it was offensive, which would be another reason for closing the thread.
