Just ignore or block them. Most of them are probably keyboard warriors anyways.

Getting moderated for breaking forum rules != cyberbully despite what some seem to think.

In all fairness, there have been a few incidents involving mods having had become too involved and grossly favoring one side over the other. More of a vigilante power high than "cyberbullying," I'd say.
This is rare, though.

Well, I guess there's been some other oddities, but I'd rather not get much into it.

On topic; I echo "document everything." Mods and most every kind of enforcement tend to prefer prefer proof. Not only does it help weed out frivolous and/or false reports, but it helps enable prosecution to the fullest extent. It's no good if it's just your word against that of the opposing party.

Personally, I just roll with it, ignore the shit out of jack asses, rarely report, and give folks a piece of my mind. I'm not easily intimidated by online alterations.

I have not seen any cyber-bullying on this forum so I could not tell you. Either it exists through PMs, or the mods usually get to it before I do.

I get odd/random PMS of sexual harassment or people telling me to go die.

Whatever.

I just block them and then report them.

I was thinking since this is my second account here and had been in some ways cyberbullied on my old one, how do most people deal with cyberbullying here on cr? and I don't mean just the forums I mean everywhere from pms to groups

just troll them like I do. Although modderators are also cyberbullies such as lorren and makaokuns (idk his username) so its kinda unavoidable

"Cyberbullying" is when a child, preteen or teen is tormented, threatened, harassed, humiliated, embarrassed or otherwise targeted by another child, preteen or teen using the Internet, interactive and digital technologies or mobile phones.

Being intellectually owned in general discussion is not cyberbulling.

I think you can be older than a teen and still be cyber bullied. Though I think it can be easily resolved if you can use an ignore feature. This site, to my knowledge, has an ignore feature

it only works for them not being able toPM you, which a certain mod did to me, which cracks me up to this day lmao

I find it humorous that people are equating cyber bullying to trolling and flaming--then again it's been trivialized to exactly that by people that make a business of victim status.

Cyber bullying is persistent, diligent and continuous just as one would anticipate bullying offline would be. The idea is to frighten, intimidate, and/or ridicule someone out of their online space and accompanying social relationships. It may not even be limited to a single site as there are many instances where some people go to extreme lengths--often acquiring someone's full name and/or photographs through indirect means. For example, acquiring the info of one online friend, finding their Facebook, and then going through their friend's list to find the target by first name alone.

Keep in mind that many targets are beneath the age of 18. They are vulnerable and so is their self esteem. This is also true for other vulnerable targets--particularly the mentally ill, socially isolated, or those generally having a rough time in life.

People like to pretend they don't give a shit about cyber bullying until it's affecting someone they know--like a friend, daughter or son. Words do matter, and pretending they can't hurt is just as bold-faced lie. Instead, what ought to be stressed is that the negative opinions and hurtful words of those we don't care for should be given much less weight compared to those that do. Ignore those that seek only to do upon oneself ill.

I guess I'm not someone who cares enough to be cyberbullied. And personally I have always kind of laughed at people who do complain about cyberbullying. I mean...it's a computer. You have so much control over what you see and don't see. It is easier than in real life! You can block and ignore people and they will never bother you again! Instead of getting worked up over some words on a screen I just say 'well that's an idiot' and move on with my day. How do you function in the real world if you get worked up over a post on an anime forum?
