I talked back and forth with this user many times on this forums (NOT animeaddict) . I noticed his posts became like this a few days ago.

No profile picture -- no name when quoted ? Is this a glitch or something else is going on ?

Thanks

The user nuked his/her account and no longer exists on CR (at least not as the name they were using before)...

so he deactivated his account ? this is odd... i didn't think he would the type to be bothered by anything online

It's not everyday you can find people of the same interests online...

Well, take care

*update*

Nuke vs Deactivate

can you just reactivate the account again when you want to ?

Not real sure about that... I wouldn't have thought you could reuse a prior id, but there is one user that I thought nuked a while ago, then came back later (PeripheralVisionary), but I don't know the details whether the account was started completely over from scratch, or just spelled slightly differently, or if it was something else we're not supposed to know about... You might try sending a PM if you're really curious.

there's no name/no account so i can't send a pm to that person if i want to. I was thinking that it might be like a Facebook account where you can temporary deactivate it and reactivate the account again whenever you want

so nuke does not = to permanent account deletion ?

When an account is "nuked" it's basically a permanent deletion of the account. Technically, in extenuating circumstances, customer support or moderators (given enough information) can "unnuke" an account but that usually only happens if we accidentally delete someone's account and then need to revive it--not if someone self-nuked.

After an account is nuked/deleted, you can't send PMs to it.

However, once an account is nuked/deleted someone can create a new account using the same name. It's not the same account. It's just a new account with the same name (there might be a couple of weirdnesses with this though).

you are talking about ninjitsuko aren't you ?

I was surprised as well. I don't think he's an anime fan either so maybe he got tired of the same old stuff in the general discussion?

I'm curious what happened but.. i guess we never know.

Probably, I think he also participated in those political threads.
