I booked an "online" BnB months ago... I'm going to see it on the last place of totality on the continental United States... Charts say that more metropolitan areas like Nashville will get to see the full totality.

Are you going to see it? Or are you lucky enough to be able to just walk out the front door?

I haven't used the old pinhole camera since we had a partial eclipse, about, what, ten years ago?
(ThinkGeek is selling plenty of "filtered" optical equipment, but I still don't trust the validity of it.)

Still, it's getting plenty of hype, coming up in three weeks, and should get plenty of sports coverage:

Yes I hope to see it. I'm in Wv so that's sorta close.

My home town is right in the trajectory of the eclipse, so I'll get a pretty amazing view of it.

Definitely. My girlfriend and I will be traveling out to see it in totality because we're both star nerds

Yeah, my wife's clan of all age groups and I will be at a farm out in the hay fields of a friend with BBQ, pop music with Ole Sol as a theme, beer, laughter awaiting 15 minutes of something different. Every motel room in Columbia is already booked 100%, sold out. Go figure.

NASA will be in Columbia for this. Some of the folks from The Weather Channel are rumored to be here also for this occasion....we'll see.

Columbia is on the flight path.

I did mention to the clan that maybe we should all go to Branson, MO and time our cave spelunking to coincide with this Solar event but they considered the source of this idea and politely said "No". Again, go figure.

We'll see a partial eclipse. No plans to travel to see the full thing.

(Yes, ladies and gentlemen, even in an astronomic thread, Biggus still considers his own joke more interesting than the SUN...)
