Is there anytime you prefer censorship in media?

My opinion:

EDIT:
I'm not talking about forcing authors or publishers exclude certain types of content, but rather about having censored versions. For example, Nekopara has a uncensored adult version and an all-ages version. The question is asking if you ever prefer the censored versions or wish there were censored versions of a media product. This is not about freedom of expression, this about wanting options.

Depends on what I am watching. But in all honesty, I don't want censorship.

If it makes sense within the context of the media and it's done in a fitting way, sure, but then I don't really see that as censorship as much as I see it artistic choice. To me censorship is more about altering already created content in a way to make it appear less offensive and I don't know if I've ever really been a fan of that.

gratuitous gore.
if it fits the story, like saving private ryan, im okay with it.
but if its just there for shock value or 'humor', no.

If the story is worth it, there should be no censorship.

They think we haven't seen horrors. They think we haven't seen the wrong side of things.

It's funny how censored we have become, and for what reason? To protect the young and innocent?

Funny to think how the new generation is expose to even more than I was. They want kids to ask these uncensored questions, because the internet is their sanctuary, and their peers are their confirmation. Kids today are much more advance than we were, and so will the next.

Censorship means nothing anymore, we just want people to believe that nothing bad ever happens oh the irony... Oh the sweet irony you dam fools

Censorship?

You mean like when I don't wanna see something and turn my head to avoid it looking at it?

Oh yeah I heard about that. But for real, this isn't even a question anyone should be asking. Don't censor it and if you don't like seeing gore or something in a scene, just don't look for a second?

Of course, this is the human race we're talking about so that answer won't do; because those who can't control themselves, feel the need to control others.

I don't ever prefer censorship, but I sometimes understand it. Generally I'm pretty Libertarian about stuff like that though. I think a robust rating/warning system is enough to moderate entertainment.

I enjoy comical censorship, like the light rays in Gabriel Dropout or anything from Hayate no Gotoku, but it has to be an anime where I'm expecting there to NOT be nudity or graphic scenes. Otherwise, I want everything shown.

An HBO show with an assault scene. Imagine watching that with your family.

I have thick skin, but some things make me really, really uncomfortable.

Also I don't like seeing characters I like brutally murdered, but... that's not really a censorship issue

I've been traumatized enough by Attack on Titan. Especially season 1.
