any kind of prepper
there are so many
there are the doomsdayers, the plague preparers, food and water, SHTF/economic collapse, hurricane, power outage ones
and ones that prepare for all of that

what do you think of them?
to me,it doesn't bother me, and it makes sense, I mean im Mormon so im used to the preparing food prepper part, my mom and I would get food and learn how to can and store ever since I was 7, and because of our income It saved us a lot, the food we got fromt the church every month, and the church would help pay our electricyt or rent for the month,...I hate to admit it we couldn't pay for all of it. sometimes had to choose school bill or electricity etc
when hurricane isabelle came we were stuck at my grandmas for 2 weeks, no access to power, and only acess to the food and water we had, my mom and I brought some of our food over which helped us a lot
-it took the governor to come down and help clear out the road of huge fallen trees because it was a private road- we were one of the last ones to be helped

so in the sense of prepping food, to me it makes sense, economic collapse, poor income, losing a job, hurricane, etc, its saved me

the doomsdayers I think go a little overboard and should put some of their energy into more reasonable things intead of a iron fortress that will make you a gov target lol
plague preparers, its unlikely, but its good to have stuff for it just incase

economic collapse, well imo its gonna happen to America at somepoint, prob in my lifetime, I mean im only 23, the bubble can only last for so long, so I should use my knowledge to secure myself and mom , since we are disabled and on welfare which will only last for so long

do you think it takes a certain personality to be a prepper? wisdom?

or do you think its ridiculous and not worth the time

I think it a fun hobby for some, and I certainly enjoy partaking in here and there. It presents an opportunity/reason/whatever to learn good behaviors, such as first aid, preparation, and perhaps self defense.

I avoid the anti government kooks however. Tip, there is no reason to learn how to make a bomb. It is not a weapon you would normally use in self defense, or at all.

Sounds great, I will read up on it. My main point of contesting bomb making is that...

-Most people who actively strive to learn it may plan to use it, and it being a weapon of mass killings versus that of a firearm, which seems to be the main usage. In any case, it is a sign of kookiness either way.

-One is FAR more likely to get themselves killed working with the materials than any scenario where it would be more useful than anything else.

-It is federal crime that can land one years in prison should one attempt to construct a working one, or so I believe.

It is a pretty fascinating topic. For me, it is the pretend notion of preparedness while learning meaningful skills or how to do this or that, and it makes me feel like a pretty nifty engineer in the making.
