Disaster prepping in fine. Better to be safe than sorry.
Doomsday prepping is just foolish, especially if you cant survive in your bunker for more than a year

I don't think it's a bad idea to be prepared to weather out a natural disaster. (pun intended)

Always have a flashlight, travel pack, first aid kit, and emergency food prepped in your household. That's just standard.
Keep an emergency pack in the trunk of your car, with road flares, jumper cables, thermal blanket, flashlight, etc. That's pretty standard too.

If you never end up needing them, good. But still, you'll get old and end up dying of heart disease, or slip away in your sleep. There's no true survival, only self preservation.

meh, im a bit of a prepper. tho its mostly skills and minimal equipment.
more focused on surviving a few days. i got a weeks worth of food minimun at all times. back up power for my computer and cell. always keep my gas tank full. can survive a night in the snow with out freezeing to death, and a day in the desert without dying of thirst.
past that, not really concerned. always keep a bag to tools in my car when im driving long distances.

It is always wise to be prepared so if disaster strikes you have options.
