Just piping in here.....I thought Blood C was good and fairly popular. Have I been missing something? It's the only one in the Blood series I have seen. It was a horror but I will admit some of the stuff was funny in a demented way. The movie, in my opinion, was horrid.

youtube has a lot of anime for free and it's not going to kill your system (or pirated), Funimation and other companies will sometimes place up their own stuff for free to the fans sort of thing.

granted I admit I have seen a lot of what CR has to offer because I've been a fan longer, but I feel CR has a lot of great shows to offer. there's a lot of love to the old stuff, and they have partners with other sites which gets their viewing to other people that haven't even joined this site, including the ability to watch without joining. advertisements are a small ordeal to still enjoy things (for free). and there are a lot to offer even to the newest of new. within a week you can watch last week's episode, with premium you can watch that week's episode the moment it appears on the site, or simply wait patiently.

so, don't be discouraged, and don't always go with suggestions, everyone has different tastes in anime viewing. if a plot interests you, watch it, if you don't like it, that's not a moment of shame, just means it didn't interest you and you don't have to "answer" to someone for suggesting something so bad. just my opinion on the whole thing.

It was less received progeny of the more popular Blood + series and Blood The Last Vampire. I don't think many people outside of those fans know about, and many who do dislike the series for being more unintentionally comical with the extreme violence, which I admit, is brutally hilarious.

Blood + as a whole is a series I have heard to an extent, but C as a whole seems lesser known, despite being more recent.

lmao, what? i think CR boasts the largest legal lineup of anime, plus with their deal with FUNimation they get new stuff all the time [i was wanting to see Death Parade since it was released and recently CR got it. it also got Code Geasse which while i'm not a fan is a pretty big deal]

whats your favourite genre anyway? while there are a lot of anime geared to the teen demographic [they need the money] there's a lot of good anime out there too if you know what you're looking for. March Comes in Like a Lion is one of my favourites and it's not a high school romance anime [speaking of, check out My Love Story, it's really good] Soul Eater, Cowboy Bebop, and Full Metal Alchemist [orignal and Brotherhood] classic anime all found on CrunchyRoll.

There are 15 genre tags, and the two with the smallest offerings appear to be "Historical" (16 series) and "Sports" (20 series). I cross-referenced the two and there doesn't seem to be any overlap whatsoever between them, so the two smallest categories boast 16 and 20 unique series each unless I've missed something. That's not bad. It's unfortunate that the particular series you're interested in seeing aren't here, but CR does allow posting series requests in the premium members' forum.

I feel like Crunchyroll doesn't actually have much popular, good anime. Steins-Gate, Tokyo Ghoul, Blood-C, etc. I'm new to watching anime(and by that I mean I'm new to binge watching series after series), and whenever I ask someone for something good to watch, it's not on Crunchyroll. And i don't like watching on pirated sites mainly because 1) I pay for anime here and 2) i don't want to kill my computer.
Anyway, does anyone else feel this way or am i just an idiot.

Tell you what... what do you like? If you liked Tokyo ghoul and Blood-C, might I suggest you check out Shiki ? Its a bit dark, about vampires and has a decent plot to it. If that doesn't suit your fancy I can suggest others on CR if you tell me what you like and what you have already watched.

Do you have a MAL(Myanimelist.com) account I can see to give you some suggestions? I have a few accts for various sites and so far CR has been the best overall. It is true sometimes there are shows that are not on CR but that is because of licensing and costs. Thus you can find other threads discussing Amazon's "strike" or Netflix, ect., unfortunately there is no LEGAL site you can goto that will have everything. Also don't be afraid to try something new. Maybe there is another genre that you might like but just haven't found the right one to get you hooked.

EDIT sorry link to Shiki didnt work... how about http://www.crunchyroll.com/shiki

I have a spreadsheet with the Crunchyroll (and various other sites) entries in it. With Crunchyroll, I have 930+ entries; of which I have tried out about 25%. I imagine that a very small number of people have actually explored the entire library. On my list, the entries are sorted out by episode range, if its SoL or not, completion status, etc. In short, there's plenty of stuff available, one just has to look around. If you want CR specific recommendations, we do have this subsection:

http://www.crunchyroll.com/forumcategory-391038/advice-info-recommendations

Anime sections works as well. You'll have to specify what you're looking for or people can't help you..

I guess if you're not into "moe" anime like Terraformars it might seem a bit limited.

seriously, i would love to help you but you need to give us something to go on. you mentioned Steins;Gate [an older series but a classic. and i think CR has their latest series in the franchise] you also mentioned Tokyo Ghoul, which is a FUNimation exclusive [while i haven't seen it, i get that it's darker, more action, and dealing with zombies?] you might like Another, Hellsing, Hellsing Unlimited, Durarara, Bungo Stray Dogs, School-Live and Madoka Magica [those last two look like moe cuteness but the art style is being used to trick you]

i've also never seen Blood-C, but i'm guessing you like the darker stuff, Future Diary can be pretty dark, The Perfect insiders and Beautiful Bones are pretty good too. [though i don't like how Beautiful Bones ended] speaking of good mysteries with bad endings, you've got Erased, loved that series [until the conclusion]

really though, you can check the tags and/or recommended videos on the animes profile page to find a similar show.

I'll check it out, thanks. And really I like just about anything, but lately I've been into dark/gorey stuff. And I'm also one of those people where if the first episode doesn't interest me, I probably won't stick around.
I've never heard of Myanimelist either so I'll check that out too.

Yeah I watched Blood-C on FUNimation's youtube. Thats also where I watched Death Note like 7 years ago before I knew other websites existed. The problem with FUNimation's youtube is they dont have playlists for shows, you its a hassle to find a certain one. My cousin also tried to give me his FUNimation account, but it won't let either of us log in for some reason so I am hoping to get my own soon for things like Fairy Tail (which CR is missing half of s1 for copyright issues)

I'll check them all out, thanks. I liked Future Diary and I loved Erased, I totally agree that the ending wasn't as good as I was hoping for. I also didn't know Tokyo Ghoul was a FUNimation exclusive, I watched it with my friend a while back so I wasn't even sure what website she used.
