It changes a lot since I only work in one place for usually a short period of time. Usually tho it's never more than 40 minutes.

Lets see, 45 minutes to get to work, a hour to a hour and a half to get home. My worst commute was Algona WA to Stanwood WA 80 miles one way and having to pass through one of the three worst choke points in the state. One and a half hours up and three hours to drive home.

It was only for two weeks before I just end up living on the site for the rest of the job. The time in my jeep and buying gas every other day was flipping awful.

Speaking as a mechanic, leaving the same gas in your car for 5 months is not good for it. The ethanol that is put in gas causes it to absorb water and break down rather quickly.

I left the gas in my 1996 Accord (parked in front of my house) for 4 years. It can start and run just fine. I would not do it again though :sweatingbullets:

Yeah that was a different era and gasoline didn't have ethanol in it lol. The additive packages have also changed a lot since then, its not what it used to be...

Actually this was just 5-6 months ago (started the car after 4 years), the gas i put in it was the Costco gas with 10% ethanol. It didn't have any problem starting-- except needing a new battery

At first, I was put in a small town and the workplace was outside the town and it took around 45 mins to an hour one way.

Then I got transferred to my hometown which is a metropolitan city and my travel time was somewhere between an hour and a half to 2 hours one way (depending on traffic). This went on for 1.5 years and I got frustrated and quit that job and took another job. The commute time there was around 45 mins to an hour again and they had an option to work from home as well. Initially I went to the office a lot because my commute time was half of my previous job. Then I started working from home more and now go to the office only once a week.

Finally I got frustrated about working from home and wanted to go to office. Seeing that most people work from home there, there is no fun at office these days. So, I am switching jobs again and going to a place where the commute time is 30 minutes if I ride my bike and 50 mins to 1 hour if I take public transportation. I hope this is the sweet spot of the commute time for me.
