Honestly, it's going to be hard to stop the bickering with so many people on both sides instigating it.

EG: Left-wing bias on many news outlets (CNN, Salon), extreme right-wing bias on a few news outlets (A couple well-known youtubers), BLM, Antifa, the scarce but still very real KKK, third-wave feminism, and a few senators (Namely: Maxine Waters and the like).

I consider myself to be a Republican but I still disagree with a lot of things that Republicans say. Sure, I live in a rural area but I still think that wild animals shouldn't be allowed to be shot for sport (Or the whole hunting system should be redone), and I also believe that open-carry should be illegal. (Concealed-carry is perfectly fine, open-carry is just unsettling to those around them.)

However, as long as we have political parties, there will be bickering, no matter how similar the parties are. Even if the only difference between democrats and republicans was their views on say, professional athletes' salaries, that would still lead to arguments. We wouldn't be able to improve other aspects of the country because we'd be too busy arguing over what we disagree on, and that's the reality we live in. We aren't improving other aspects of our country because our senators are too busy arguing over whether Trump should be impeached or not. (Which, obvious answer, he hasn't done anything worthy of being impeached, so he won't be impeached.) Then people like Maxine Waters and Chuck Schumer (who seem to only be in congress to shoot down the ideas of the republican senators) get re-elected for an unlimited amount of terms only to do nothing but argue for the rest of their lives and instigate the right. If you don't know what I mean by "instigate," look at this quote Maxine Waters said: "After we impeach Trump, we should go after Pence next." I know I'm only giving examples about the left but in all honestly they're most of the political problem in America. With Antifa, BLM, and the old decrepit senators. We need term-limits for the senate if we're ever going to get anything done, because with the likes of Waters, Schumer, Pelosi, etc, we're in a hole started by them and finished by everyone else.

I think you may be missing a very important point here; conflict and competition actually drive innovation. If everyone was to suddenly join hands and start cooperating, yes, we would be able to build many things, but there would be little that would be truly new or revolutionary. It is the desire to be better than the Joneses (to butcher an old saying), or to be safe from one's enemies that truly drives progress. This may seem very cynical, because... well it is, but it is still fairly accurate, besides; arguing, nitpicking and name calling are still better than shooting and killing, wouldn't you agree?

I'm not saying that corporations with R&D should stop competing against each other. I'm saying that all the government people should set aside differences and start funding things that will benefit the whole of humanity. I think that if an entire government started cooperating with each other, people will start to follow suit. Not right away but at a slow, gradual pace. Possibly after a couple generations.

Of course this would never happen but it makes for an interesting thought experiment. What could a government provide to benefit humanity? Not just in one country but the world.

And yes arguing and the like is better than killing lol.

Conservative vs Liberal

Republican vs Democrat

It's all bullshit. All of it. All the arguing, name calling and pointless debating will hinder our society to evolve as a whole. Humans should work together to achieve great things no matter what 'side' they see themselves on. Interstellar space flight will never be a thing because we are too busy bickering at each other.

Humans could achieve spectacular things if we could stop blaming everyone on the other side of the fence for everything that goes wrong.

Every congress/parliament in the world is a complete zoo. It's all power grabs. It's all bullshit. All of it.

You are absolutely right.

The differences have become irreconcilable at this point.

I blame identity politics.

What is there to do? People will bicker in the liberal vs. conservative argument forever.

Politics period are ridiculous, and distract us from obtaining real achievements. While the entire world spends ridiculous amounts of money training people to kill one another, we haven't explored the ocean fully. And we aren't getting anywhere in space. I'll go as far as to say the concept of money is a bit weird., and it hurts us and holds us back. But I guess it's necessary with how society is nowadays.

I don't think it's specifically ideological differences.

It's lack of critical thinking.

The inability to process nuances.

Everyone seems to think everything is black and white.

It's terminal at this point. Both sides feel like they have a mission they need to accomplish and the other side exists only to stand in the way of it.

It's just the circus act before the real show begins.

Fixing the world is so simple, people just need to let go of false idols and prophets, and worry about what we need to do, and not what we are trying to do. There's no more time for talk, we've been talking for years.

Stop trying to force your beliefs, just come together under one cause. Making the world function without dysfunctional people.

What's the point?

Just like a lot of things, what's the point. It's going to happen, so what's the point. There's no more arguing this anymore, what is the point? People won't wake up, so let the sheeple sleep.

Give me a few years though, I'll see what I am capable of.

Don't forget "Roadblock everything Dems want to do" McConnell. Plenty of people on both sides are at fault, Congress for the last 20+ years has been about "winning" and "beating" the other side instead of compromising.

I would agree however in politics I do not believe I have ever seen constructive conflict or competition. Its a pissing contest to see who can keep their job the longest, piss the other party off, and make the most money in fundraising. Funny you mention "Revolutionary" because a complete flush of the US congress and Senate IMO would fix alot of the US problems. Set 6yr term limits and instead of jury duty... Congress/senate duty for 6 years the "Good ol' boys" getting things done are the same ones taking money for whatever special interest group their particular party caters too.
