I believed that after dark bats would attack you to steal your hair. The reason I believed this was my mom told me (so I would not stay outside after dark obviously). Still today, even though I know that isn't true, every time I hear bats, I think back to what I believed when I was younger.

I used to think that "Pierogies" was pronounced "Puh-doggies."

I also used to think anime was all porn and kiddie stuff too, you know, like most american teenagers think.

Back when I was 12 - 13 I thought Japan was the best country in the world. Got older and realized it's just as shitty a country as the rest. Workaholic, cheating, stressfull, homogeneous, male dominated society/ country. Still a cool place to visit though.

When I was young I used to think people were born with their accent. I basically thought all Asian people had accents. It wasn't until I met a guy in like 5th grade which made realize otherwise

I used to think I am a good person. Then I met a man with whom I've worked with for 10 years now. Now I know that I am a good person, most of the time. When I end up forced to work with this man I become quite aggressive and just a little bit evil. There are some people with whom you can try and try and try to get along with, but you have to come to a realization eventually that the person just hits all of your buttons.
Either way, that was a sort of epiphany.

But the smartest man I know was my grandpa who was a physicist. He always part so much wisdom. He told me that any of your strongly held beliefs that I should always look for disconfirming evidence against it. I never knew what he meant until I started questioning why the media was attacking Trump.

I couldn't believe the truth when I did my own research of how bias the media was against one man. I went down a deep dark hole in my research for the truth.

Overall, I'm glad I took the red-pill. I'm a better person for it.

Pretty sure you mistook his advice. The reason you need to question your beliefs and especially the most important ones is because you need to fully understand it. Someone who never challenges their own thoughts will never have an original one. Though I don't know your grandpa so maybe I'm wrong.

But I've also seen the other things you post and you seem to have a fundamental problem with misunderstanding things. The Trump brand is known for one thing and one thing only. The name. Branding has nothing to do with how good the product is, just how it is sold. Which I think we both know Trump is pretty good and at the sell.
Next you mentioned how he is qualified, also wrong. The born in the US, 35+ age and 14+ resident are not qualifications, they are prerequisites. Which there is a huge difference. Someone that is in a coma/brain dead is still qualified to be president.

I'm glad you challenged your beliefs, but you should never stop. The media is attacking Trump(sometimes for no reason), but Trump is also terrible a lot of the times. Don't get caught in thinking because you checked your belief once you never have to challenge it again. I would even say its more important to challenge something you have changed your view on. In the end I can see why you look up to him your grandpa definitely has a lot of wisdom.

That saying something offensive was the worst thing ever. That there were more than two genders. That the SJW side of Tumblr was right. I was a fucking idiot. It's better to let people say whatever they please instead of holding on to little things. The world isn't perfect and it never will be.
