Never had a Bearded Dragon, but I did have a Uromastyx of some sort many years ago.

Bearded Dragons are considered easy or "entry-level", so far as reptiles go, but they're much more work (and financial investment) than something like a hamster or a cat.

You'll need space for a decent sized enclosure - probably a 60+ gallon aquarium. In addition to the cost of the enclosure, lamps, food, etc. you can probably expect your electricity bill to go up a bit. Even if Beardies don't need as hot a sunbathing spot as many reptiles do, those lamps are power hogs, as I recall.

the pet shop we are possibly getting one from has deals where you get a free baby beardy with the purchase of a set which has everything but something for decoration/for it to lay on and food
