Between this age range: 3-5 yrs.
I grew up with brothers in high school living with me.
I could've been a genius if there wasn't a no school gap between 4th and 10th grade...

1994, I was 10 at the time. I had a love of animation and eventually comics before but it didn't really take off untill then.

Started with Sailor Moon when I stumbled on it by accident while flipping channels to find something to watch. She came on at 8am and not only was I blown away by the art style, which was much more detailed than the goofy cartoons at the time, but by the fact that it was actual girls fighting monsters. I got hooked ever since. A few years later I found DBZ, however I got rather tired of it because it took ages to power up and fight the bad guy of the month. Once Goku was about to win, the reruns would kick in and you'd have to start from episode one. And the last new episode was somewhere into the 100s.

Then there was the Sci-Fi channel that aired anime in the afternoons. That's when I realized that Anime was more than just for kids, and had some really different things for everyone. Where everything in animated for TV in America was either for really little kids and the stuff that was worth watching with some sort of plot line was for boys. The more I got into Anime and Manga was the fact that there was so much variety.

There's 2 anime eras for me:

First, when i was child, i saw most of the shows on the television, like dragon ball, sakura cardcaptor, etc... but didn't paid attention to if they were Japanese (people in Mx thinks that if it's not mexican, then it;s american )

Then, on my adolescence, i stupidly stopped watching cartoon because i though it was for children...

... Then, when i was 22, and realized that nobody cares what you see or do with your life, i started watching it again, but thanks to internet, i can fully enjoy anime

There were three significant eras for my anime watching experience.

First, the Pokemon and Yu-Gi-Oh! Era (2002-2014)
Second, the Naruto and other Big 4 Anime Era (2009-2017)
Third, the Seasonal Anime Era which started with Akame ga Kill (Summer 2014-Present)

I was 5/6 when my dad and I would stay up late to watch Speed Racer. At the time, though, I had no idea what anime was; too me it was just a cartoon I liked. Then came Toonami which introduced me to Sailor Moon, Tenchi Muyo, Yu Yu Hakusho, Dragonball Z, Zoids, Gundam, and much more.
