Since the moment I joined the anime community, One Piece has always been there right besides me waiting to be clicked and watched. It has been much more time before me, we were even born the same year. It is one of the best manga/anime in the history of the industry and shone fandom, so why can't I like it?
I have to admit I gave it some time, I first watched a bunch of animes in a 3 year lapse, I might have finished more than 100 shows of different chapter lengths, everything so I could be ready to watch the interesting drawings and long and amazing, as some describe, plot it provided. So at the start of 2017 I jumped right into it and up to today I watched a total of 48 chapters. Yes, it has a unique touch and conflicts go and come but there is a serious problem for me, I don't like it.
The problem here isn't that I don't like the anime itself, the real problem is that I don't like one of the best animes in history. Even though everyone has likes and dislikes so you can't have the same tastes as every single human in Earth, I find it interesting that even SAO, which I don't like, entertained me more than One Piece.
The point of this post is not for me to say One Piece is a bad anime or anything of that style, I don't even write that. I want you to tell me what should I pay more attention to and what do you like the most of the anime, all these for the simple reason for me to understand more deeply what am I missing.
Ps. I don't find the conflicts entertaining. I know that if I continue watching the anime I might at some point like a particular character and make me want to know what happens with them, that's the only reason I saw 48 chapters.

Just because something is popular doesn't imply that you should like it or even that it's any good. One Piece is aimed at like 8-12 year-old kids. Some people older than that may enjoy it but it's still shallow and formulaic. There are much better things out there. You need to trust your own judgement, not just assume something is the "best" just because the masses say so.

One Piece starts out fairly slow, if I recall correctly
Once they really form a crew/get to Alabastia I'd say is when things really get into longer arcs and faster paced stuff
If you want, you could read the manga which generally goes faster

Or don't and just not like it, that's fine
It does have some very epic moments, though

To be honest, from my point of view...I find it terribly boring and dragged out. It's dry and not innovative at all.

It's a pretty good show. The anime can be slow at times, but overall I think it's worth watching. I think it's the length and grand scheme of the story that makes in awesome. The story is good and the fights can be pretty awesome. If you aren't into anything similar, you might not like it. There are really good arcs left in the story. If you don't like it you don't like it. I think SAO sucked

Tbh I don't think it's fair to say it's aimed at kids. I think it's better to use a rating system like the US has. It would probably be PG13. That doesn't mean you have to be 13 to enjoy it.
One Piece isn't really formulaic, except the concept that the good guys win. It's a battle shounen but it's not just some shallow plotless fist brawler.

48 episodes....so that would put you at just after Arlong Park

That's about right. Arlong Park seems to be the make or break point for most people that watch One Piece. At that point you either love it or you don't.

I'll just say the world/story building, is hands down my favorite part of the series. Oda makes a world that lives. Events happen outside of the main characters, strong characters are alluded to early on, and the world is consistent. None of it feels shoehorned in.

I don't know how good it is but I can say I enjoy it.

It depends on your anime taste. You might like it as well as you can hate it

The anime gets stretched out, losing all dramatic weight. As a result, the manga is better.

I recently started watching it again, and I'm enjoying it. That's me though.

There's no reason to force yourself to like something . It might just not be for you, and that's fine, since there's plenty of other things out there. Personally, I think One Piece is quite good, though not nearly as good as many people say it is. I fall exactly in the demographic that it's targeting though. A lot of people won't like it, and that's ok.

I've tried to watch One Piece multiple times over the years (at least 10 times) and could never find myself to get into it. Usually getting bored after 10-50 episodes in and simply "forgetting" i was even trying to watch it.

The only reason I ever got into One Piece was because I bought Pirate Warriors 2 on PS3 and didn't want to get lost in the story. I didn't have time to catch up via anime so I read the manga from the beginning. And I was hooked.. Took me 2 weeks to get to Punk Hazard (which was the game's start).

But anyway, don't force yourself to like it if you don't. You don't have to like something just because a lot of people do. That's how it was with me and Attack on Titan. Cool premise, but I found it boring most of the time so I dropped it. I don't really care if I miss out on it because I don't like it.

Well, One Piece is very good, at least certain parts of it are. The show doesn't really get going until the Alabasta arc, and things hit its peak at the Enies Lobby arc. But what I don't like is that this show just keeps on going and adapting it at a snail's pace to make sure that it doesn't run out of material to adapt. This is problematic after the time skip. As a result, the animation quality suffers and there's so much junk that wouldn't have been necessary if it had taken a break or something. For something like this, One Piece should have a break so that Eichiro Oda has time to get far ahead so that he doesn't need to resort to these kinds of measures, or at the very least have episodes released biweekly.
