So, I was looking at buying two anime series, but I can only afford one. Which should I buy? Grimgar: of Fantasy and Ash, or Nichijou?

I've seen Grimgar and loved it, but I've heard great things about Nichijou, and it looks pretty funny. Should I risk Nichijou just so I can see it, or should I support the one I already know I like?

don't really see the point of buying something you've already watched

FILTHY CASUAL!!!!!

Jk. But seriously, you don't own any movies you've seen in theaters, or don't enjoy rewatching any films or series?

I personally don't no not really, unless it's been so long since I've watched them I don't remember half of it, or am watching it with someone that hasn't seen it. But I guess that does make me a filthy casual ;-;

On the one hand:
Grimgar is the 'safe' choice. You know you like it and would rewatch it.

On the other hand:
Grimgar is on CR, and may (or may not) still be available on CR when you decide to rewatch it. If you want to support the creators to watch Nichijou, then buying it may be the only opportunity to do so.

Personally, I'd watch an episode or two first before deciding to buy (even if the only option is *wink wink nudge nudge*), but that's because I loathe going into any sort of purchase completely blind.

I'm relatively cautious about buying things I don't know much about, too. My dilemma is that, although I'd like to see part of it first, I'm pretty resistant to winks and nudges right now, since the last time I gave in and tried to watch a series via alternative means, I ended up with some malware that was kind of a pain to get rid of.

I'm gonna suggest that you should buy the English translation of the LN's for Grimgar instead of the anime, cause they're really good imo. Well unless you don't like reading then go for the anime version.

Nichijou is pretty good, but I found it to be a little lacking towards the end of the show. All in all it's still a good comedy anime. You should watch some youtube videos of it though before buying, I'm sure you can find the first full episode.

Buy the Nichijou anime, get the Grimgar light novels.

My personal philosophy in buying anime is that unless I really really really like a series, I tend to only buy ones where the story is finished. I liked the Grimgar anime enough to buy the light novels in English.

Nichijou is also an adaptation, but to me the animation is worth the buy (I have not bought it yet but I plan to). The way the whole show is animated is absolutely stellar and really showcases anime as a medium.
