Yes. Jean Claude Van Damme will come beat you up, like he did to Ron Silver.

I would also like to point out that if you use time travel to win the lottery you wont be the first person with that idea. Thus there will always be a multitude of winners and the lottery will become a pointless game for scratch pennies.

They would probably just get rid of the lottery and all betting games at that point.

I'll go back in time to make sure it isn't illegal to use time travel to win the lottery then win the lottery, you can't stop me.

You will just get arrested when you come back to whatever time frame you originally started from. Lottery winners are all recorded so no matter what time you choose. It will all be in the books by the time you come back to the future. Yes this includes stocks and bonds as well.

Nice try though :D

You can't illegalize something that can't be proven to have happened.

Illegal, no! But surely it would break the rules, not that anyone would find out much of anything about it unless it created some sort of time paradox.

In any case I can actually see time travel being a possible thing in the future because time isn't always the same as it's relative and humans don't actually know how it really works. For instance black holes slow down time while things stuck in it gets spagetified. So if the theory of black holes being connected to other parts of the universe is true then that could maybe be used for some time travel universe fast travel of sorts, but only if we come up with some way to survive the spagetification that is as that's the biggest problem. Humans would also need a better understanding of how time is relative, einstein have theories about time and how it can by manipulated that are pretty interesting if we're able to prove them correct that is

I didn't read too deeply into this but how would you win a game of odds by going back into time? If you went back and changed the odds around the ticket that you pulled wouldn't that also have the possibility of the winning numbers changing accordingly?

Use a fake name and come back to a time before you were conceived. Live in luxury and give your original self the money once you are old enough.
