On a serious note, I think you need a bit of both.


The worst enemy of capitalism is monopolies and government interference. But those are also the most natural consequences of capitalism. Money and resources from getting ahead mean the company is likely to stay ahead. And makes them able to effectively buy the government (bribes, lobbyists, etc.)

So you need enough socialism to make sure everyone starts on an even footing. This means providing consistent quality education (not just school) and safe communities to grow, explore, and work your way up in.

Pure socialism will near always fail. I think the only way socialism works is if you make a country of people who wholeheartedly and voluntarily agree to be socialist.

As someone who believes in artistic freedom, I have no choice but to be pro-capitalism. As someone who believes in individuality, practicality, and rationality over collectivism, idealism, and arguments purely from pathos, I have no choice but to be pro-capitalist. Capitalism not only allows you the freedom to offer your craft up to the masses, but it allows you to receive feedback and the ability to hone your talents. Capitalists also tend to be more practical with their solutions. Socialists and Communists want to eliminate poverty completely; capitalists want to reduce the number of poor, since that is more practical, given that poverty is a societal ill that has plagued man since the beginning of civilization and will continue to plague him as long as civilization stands.
