Crunchyroll runs extremely slowly about 75% of the time I use it. It's the worst when a popular anime gets a new episode but sometimes there doesn't seem to be one specific thing to point to.

I've spent all day trying to watch things but I've managed only about 3 episodes over about 6 hours because of the sluggish buffering. Other sites (including streaming like Netflix) run fine. Internet's 65 MbPS so I know my tech can handle it. I've tried with the Roku app, Windows 10 app, Android app, and the website through Chrome, Firefox, and Edge. Tried different internet connections including mobile data. I've been a subscriber for maybe a year at this point (plus using it free for a year before that) and it's been a constant battle. I'm at wits end and will likely be cancelling my subscription but there's almost no options to legally view anime short of buying boxsets or paying $1-$2 for a single episode on Amazon--assuming they even have the series I'm looking for.

WHY is the site like this? Are they funneling all their money into advertisements/sponsors but putting nothing into upgrading/fixing their servers to actually HANDLE all their users? Because I see sponsored videos from CR all the time yet they clearly cannot even serve current users, let alone MORE.

I am also having this issue. Tried on Roku, Windows using web player, and PS4. Buffering so often that shows are basically unwatchable. Also seeing this issue on VRV which I believe is part of Crunchyroll. But not on any other streaming video apps.

crunchyroll isnt even that great anymore, i remember way back when it was free... now you can find anything free online if you look hard enough. crunchyroll dont even care to fix the issues at hand, back to the free sites. least they dont buffer 80% of the time crunchyroll does.

What the hell is even happening here? I haven't been able to watch anything since last week. It takes a year to buffer no matter the stream quality or my internet speed. Has anyone heard from Crunchyroll?

This is particularly frustrating because I specifically started subscribing again because I thought they had sorted this shit out. If I have to go back to 360p streaming and waiting two hours to even watch an episode I might as well go sail the high seas again.

Yeah, I'm having the same issue. The last week or so I've been having difficulty getting videos to load. Loading ahead on the video has been slow as well.

Well, now I know I'm not the only one having this issue with videos playing either. The episode plays for maybe 30 seconds or less but then stops for no apparent reason. I've got no ad blockers enabled for this site and I've tried clearing my cache data but no luck. I've tried contacting crunchyroll about the issue, but no idea if they're working on it or not, especially since multiple users are having the exact same issue. It's been happening for the past week for me as well.

Has this issue really not been adressed or looked into at the moment.

Like 80 % of the episodes aren't loading here in Denmark

wow, I was really starting to think it was my internet giving trouble.

It takes me like 2 hours to watch on 30-minutes anime and it really pisses me off.

Currently can only watch for 10-60 seconds, then have to wait 10 seconds while it buffers.

Edit: I give up for tonight. Back to random YouTube videos since they stream just fine.

This is happening to me as well, 2 minutes into a video requires that I wait another five minutes for video buffering. The issue is specific to my PC though, so I'm not sure what the problem is. Chromecast runs fine and my other laptop and android devices run the videos fine. Just my PC suffers from this issue.
