    A pick-me-up sort of show!
This is such a great show! I enjoyed every second of it. I really love the story that they put forth - the ideas were great! When it wasn't making me smile, it was making me laugh, which is really nice. I highly recommend it!

I wasn't supposed to get so emotionally invested in an anime about swimming!
I'm not going to lie: the reason I started watching Free! was because of the cute swimmer boys. I wanted a light-hearted anime with attractive characters that was fun to watch. I got that, but I also got so much more. Beneath the light-hearted atmosphere and obvious fanservice muscle shots, Free! is a show with a lot of heart. Throughout the first season of this show, I found myself very ...

    A bold move paid off
Basically what I think it that this could have been a disaster, but it worked out in the end.
I still think the emotional parts would have worked better with female characters, but you couldn't really pull off the swimming as well I think without it being almost all and all out fan service, which I understand this still rather was from a female perspective, but it wold have been worse if done ...

Manliest show of all time *sarcasm
Before I get on with this review I have to say 1- I'm a straight guy and 2- this is my current favorite anime of 2013 season (though I am a Kyoto animation lover so I might be a little biased. Just a little. Just a little little.)

The anime starts of with main character Haruka Nanase lamenting on how good he is at swimming and wanting to be "normal". He then makes a swimming club to curb his ...

    A Good Series.. No doubt.
I dislike how many people view this anime as 'gay' or 'only for females'. Sure, there is obviously female-orientated fan service for this show, however lets face it- this show is doing what the a large portion of the others shows have been doing-providing fan service to the male population, albeit for the female viewers this time.

It blends the theme friendship with the sport of swimming, and ...

    That was pretty nice!
Free! was a pretty darn good anime though they should have concentrated more on the actual swimming (and some of their swimming animations had pretty bad technique though I maybe am being a little harsh on that one ). All in all it was very good! If you're wondering should you watch it or not, just watch it! Very much worth the while!

Amazing Anime Made me so Happy <3
    The guys are hot.
They aren't boring, there's strong relationship bonds
A lot of fan service, but there's an even stronger storyline and it moves along very nicely
The second season next summer has a lot to live up to! Rin annoyed me a lot, but in the end he grew on me.
There was a lot of character development and this is definitely not boring.

And in more ways than one!
In a world where crappy, fanservice laden anime plague stream sites and Japanese telly waves... Kyoto Animation dares to step beyond the norm. This brave crew steps forth to tell us... young men, there's no need to feel down. Young men, pick yourselves off the ground. 'Cause, young men, you're in a new town. There's no need to be unhappy.

IT'S FUN TO STAY AT THE- Oh wait, that's the Village ...

    Free!: Summer 2013 AOTS
This anime exceeded any expectations I had for it. The story, character development, and music were all beautifully done. It isn't just an anime about shirtless guys, it's about friendship and teamwork.

    One of my favourite animes.
I actually dislike a lot that everyone thinks they're all gay or that the anime was made for the yaoi.
You got it wrong, actually the anime was created because of the fanservice for girls. Yet, putting that aside, I loved more the plot. No, not that kind of plot (the one of everyone undressing for girls to watch the anatomy). I mean the real plot. The plot of four childhood friends that ...
