  • It's only my second anime, but I kind of love it.
I love how all the characters care for one another, and how they're all comfortable with one another, regardless of who's there or not. It really makes you become invested in the story pretty quickly.

There's a good amount of character development too (especially with Rin), and the water animation/drawing is awesome. Oh! And the music is catchy as hell.

This is a really fun series, and I'd ...

  • I gotta say before I start
The fact that all these girls just ignorantly say this show is for them and not men is just plain dumb and they should feel ashamed for being so closed minded.

So a anime about a group of guys who end up creating a close and personal friendship with one another with a little drama and some decent character development sprinkled in for good measure is only for girl's huh? Maybe next time you ...

  • Totally funny, and just weird... i love it!
Yeah sure "girl" anime, nah guys can watch this too and laugh. Since really, come on guys men act this way sometimes.
I really love the humor, and the characters are so unique and good. Rin is a big jerk face, but you got to love him. Its good to see a good sport anime.

    Misleading Fandom, Amazing Anime!
So, going into this anime, I was expecting lots of shirtless men being all sexy and get into awkward situations with each other, whilst their bodies were always wet. This was thanks to the large fraction of the fandom that mainly speak about this.

    BUT!

To my own surprise, this anime has such an amazing story and great characters that you can see evolve right before your eyes into greater ...

  • Free! - An Eternal Review
This is one of the most homoerotic shows that has ever been created. Comparable even to Top Gun.
The show itself is a story about growing up, a very common theme. Following a group of swimmers at Iwatobi high, the plot centers around the nostalgic feeling of doing what you love with your friends forever. After the group learns that their long lost friend Rin has moved back to Japan, Haruka Makoto ...

  • Really touching anime
Great character development, really enjoyed watching the story line progress. I originally stopped watching the show after two episodes and for some reason I decided to give it another go. I'm SO glad that I did! Way better than I ever expected it to be. Both seasons were great, but if I had to choose between them I'd say this one was my favorite.
The last episode was really touching and couldn't ...

  • Definitely a New Favorite
Free! is definitely on my All-Time Favorite Anime list. This is obviously an anime that was predominantly written to please the ladies, but I don't see why guys can't like this. Story is great, characters are even greater, and the art is wonderful!

While it definitely does objectify men to some degree, I don't see it as any different than the boobs-that-are-bigger-than-a-planet trope. I find ...

  • Best anime ever!!!!!
My favourite anime by far, it had a lot of emotions and the characters were AMAZING! It's obviously aimed towards girls and I think the makers did an excellent job at it. Also, the art in this is the best I've seen! Although I want it to keep going forever, I feel like the end really wrapped everything up!

  • More Than Meets the Eye
I watched season 1 of this show as soon as it came out, as one of the many hyped over the new "swimming anime". With its bright colors, smooth animation, and abundance of male muscle, I thought I'd be in for the female equivalent of ecchi. And to an extent, it was there, for sure. However, KyoAni also included a story of sportmanship and friendship, and it sealed Season 1 as a simple, yet fun ...

  • Perfect this show is just perfect!!!!
This show is one of the better done series that someone can watch. It is not filled with tons of filler and wobbling all of the place. The show has a clear direction from the start and keeps heading there without taking any pointless and meaningless detours. This show is Just so Perfect! and well done. Anyone that says this is just fan service either has not watched it or does not know what fan ...
