Now I know. The guy who sang an composed the beginning theme is the lead singer of the Stranglers, a 70's, 80's british rock band. It took a while, but the voice kept gnawing at me. And the somewhat off key singing.

for the love of Bruce Lee, they are not gay just more emotional than is usual in modern day society...Franz on the other hand. Either way The story was written in another period and the characters have been adapted to suit other interests.
