Flat Characters, Confused Setting and a Rushed Plot
Honestly this movie was rather disappointing for me. Though it is technically competent, it lacks what I feel a film actually needs. Which is compelling characters and story. Being only 60 minutes long, I feel that they were far too ambitious and bit off more than they could chew.
Garakowa tries to be a tearjerker. However a tearjerker only works if you care about the characters enough to cry ...

That was the longest trailer I have ever seen... Oh wait that was the movie
So, having finished this movie, I have a lot of praise and a lot of questions regarding the future of this excellent movie. Honestly, I would like to first say that this was probably one of the greatest films I have ever seen, a true masterpiece to say the least, but this is when things get weird. I feel like this movie was like a really long trailer or a pilot to a bigger film. Garakowa, being ...

    Very fun and entertaining
Very entertaining, great visual experience. It has good character development for a movie. I love the character designs, and special effects in this movie. The story can a little complex at times, but it's a fun experience. I hppe everyone who watches it loves it just as much as i did.

A Good Movie Just Lacking a Purpose
Maybe the biggest problem this movie has is the fact it is about a hour long. It has big ideas and a bigger plot just not enough time to develop it. There are parts of the movie which need to be expanded on such as the relationship developments between the characters. At times it felt like it was too rushed or not explained well enough. But for me the biggest problem with the movie was at the end. ...

Not what I was expecting from reading the bad reviews
I honestly don't know why did people dislike it, I dislike a lot of anime so when I read the reviews said characters were typical and the movie tried to be tearjerking but came off as just forced I thought "oh well that's a huge bummer cause it actually looked interesting"

I decided to give it a try and stop if it starts bothering me, and I stayed interested and confined until the very ...

Unique, complex, original concept, that just falls short due to a rushed story wrap-up.
Overall, Garakowa is a great movie. It has a nice original concept fleshed out with a complex background story really, really wants to make you think. The mystery of the world the main characters are in, why they are there, the problem with the viruses, and the mystery girl who shows up and just leads to more questions. This plot was laid out perfectly to be an incredibly engrossing and deep film. ...

    Interesting Old Ideas
The concepts and ideas are not new, but the execution of the ideas is decent, accompanied by the pleasing arts and music. However, the plots are not dense, and most things are left for interpretation, which makes the long period of "slice of life" somehow a waste of time. Still, the pace is not too bad as the film is only approximately 1 hour long.

    Good, but missing better ending
I liked it, but would have liked an ending that showed a new world evolving, or the computer program/OS being killed before it could start screwing up the world. Maybe it's better that we let people have free will and accept the downsides of it than to build an utopia where everyone just do as they are "told" to do.

    Garakowa: A Digital Nightmare?
Garakowa is well animated, but will require you to watch with tissues.

The movie opens up with lush scenery of 21st Century Japan in autumn.

We see Dual, a girl with long, black hair and soft, blue eyes, waiting by a pond, as she is greeted from behind by best friend Sumire, who looks just like Dual, but with reddish-pink eyes. Sumire is excited that she is going to become a pianist, and she ...

    A True Five Star Movie
This film really is amazing i suggest everyone go and watch it the artwork is really beautiful to look at and is very easy on the eye. The story is really easy to follow it does drag on a bit when a montage scene appears but that is a very minor cribe the voice acting is also on point as are the action scenes and there are a few of them in this movie overall great job A1 and Crunchyroll
