    Unexpected Brilliant Storyline
Came in thinking this was one of those anime with just meaningless fighting and it certainly seemed to start that way in the first couple minutes. Except i was completely wrong! The anime turned out to be not only entertaining but very thought provoking. Season 2 here we go!

PDR Reviews // Gargantia on the Verdurous Planet
Gargantia on the Verdurous Planet is the seventh anime I've watched, and I watched it from start to finish. I was hungry for a new anime series to watch, and after some brief browsing on Crunchyroll, I found this anime. I saw it had great ratings, I saw the giant mech in the thumbnail, and I also saw the fairly cute girl - so I gave it a shot.

    Story //
Oh boy, this anime has quite the ...

One of the best Animes of the season!
This anime was extremely well done. As soon as I started the first episode, I couldn't stop watching more. The characters were very well done and the plot was amazing. Sadly though, it only had 13 episodes. But luckily - it has been confirmed that a second season will soon be coming out! I'm hoping that it will show more of Amy and Ledo's romance and somehow; they will make Chamber come back! ...

    Great Story, Great Anime
I was curious about this particular anime because of my love of mechs and giant robots. I'm so glad I watched it. The story is great with interesting characters that you come to care about. The art work is beautiful and the music for it is fantastic. I really enjoyed the interactions between Ledo the protagonist, and all the people he meets because you get to see him evolve over time and change ...

This anime is short, sweet, and a great insight into humanity.
I would definitely recommend this to anyone willing to break into anime. In the span of only 13 episodes, a great story of belonging unfolds in an extraordinarily beautiful environment. 5/5, would definitely watch again.

A Fairly Average But Fun Show
Gargantia doesn't really manage to break new ground, but it manages to be a fairly fun show. While the show's two principle characters, Ledo and Chamber, receive plenty of development, much of the cast goes undeveloped. The show's pacing is all over the place. It starts out paced like a 26-episode show before ramping up the pacing up somewhat towards the end. The animation is fairly nice; ...

Giant Squids + Giant Robots = Awesome
Somehow this show manages to combine space combat, a post-apocalyptic future, giant squids, giant robots AND a heart-warming buddy story of self-discovery. It also has refreshingly creative designs for both the interstellar civilization and its enemies, and also for the waterworld. Beautiful backgrounds and high quality animation. So awesome.

    Very different than expected
So I started watching this expecting a whole lot more of a mecha/action series than I actually got. Not that I'm complaining about that. Visually, this show is certainly nice to look at, and the action scenes that are in it do a good job.

It's just that this is much more a science fiction series than a mecha one. It actually asks some questions about genetic alterations, AI, and the interaction ...

    Fascinating Anime but Developed Slowly
In the distant future, in a galaxy far far away. Humankind has advanced beyond imaging and has created a civilization adapted to space and everybody's' hair is silver. But mankind faces extinction for they are constantly fending off alien life forms called The Hideauze. And so we meet our main character a 16 year old soldier named Ledo, trained from birth by the Galactic Alliance to fight against ...
