    Short, But Very Sweet
Gargantia's ocean world premise will doubtlessly remind viewers of Water World, but such a comparison is coincidental at best.Gargantia mixes high sci-fi concepts with classic dystopian themes and strings it all together with an optimistic humanist message. Indeed, at the heart of Gargantia is an egalitarian outlook grounded in a more socially-minded sense of liberty. That ...

The best anime since Code Geass
Truly a wonderful anime! The characters are fun and interesting and grow as the story unfolds. The animation & art are absolutely brilliant. I couldn't wait for the next episode every time and the payoff was great. The creators could have done so much more with an anime so rich with content to draw from but thy put the 13 episodes to good use. A must watch for more serious anime fans.

Fish out of water anime with mech
This isn't a mech-centric anime. Mechs just happen to be in it.
Essentially it's a fish out of water story where Ledo get's in touch with his humanity.
Various facts about Ledo's old home, Galactic Empire, and earth are revealed throughout the series to add background as well motivation for Ledo.

    Visually amazing! Great story!
This is definitely my number one or two pick for the season. Can't decide whether I like this or Attack on Titan more. The production value and overall animation is superb and it has one of the more interesting story lines for a "mech" series. There is some great character development and Ledo is one of the stronger main characters this anime season so I truly believe this will series will ...

    water world x mechas?
This anime feels like the movie water world has come to life with a whole new feel. As if mechas had just protruded their way into the story and twisted it into something completely different. I really like the unique character appearances along with the very different clothing compared to other animes.

    Caught me by Surprise!
Wow, That's all i have to say, WOW.
At first, i thought this was going to be your typical Mecha Anime and blah; and boy was i wrong! The first 10-15 mins might not get your attention because it feels like any other space mecha anime but then boom, it suddenly grabs your attention. I'm not going to spoil anything but when the main protagonist "Ensign Ledo" gets sucked into a guess a worm ...

Not your ordinary Mech story. Unique!
Definitely unique. In the beginning I thought it was going to be like any other mech show. After the setting changed, that thought got tossed right out the window! The detail put into this show is amazing! Love production I.G! Great job guys! Great show! Kudos to the writers. I Like how they actually have him speaking an unkown language and requires the robot to translate for him. makes it more ...

Another triumph from the creator of Madoka
Gargantia, similar to Madoka, takes a fresh and illuminating look on genre grown somewhat stagnant in anime: mecha. Gargantia's pacing arguably suffers the same fate as Madoka's (in other words, if you thought Madoka had a slow start, you'll feel similarly with Gargantia). For me, this is a non-issue, as Gargantia takes careful time to immerse you into the new planet and the highs and lows of its ...

    First thoughts... were wrong
At first I didn't think much of this anime by the cover and the first few minutes of ep1.

Well I guess "Don't judge a book by its cover" is right - after the first episode it really gets interesting and you get attached to the characters.
I rate this 5 stars, for the great turn around do.o
