    A single-season treasure
There are not many 13-episode animes that are able to pull off a great story while having and ending that leaves the viewer satisfied, but this one pulls it off beautifully. It was a great story with excellent animation. It is probably the first short run that I would actually re-watch!

    Short, But Very Sweet
Gargantia's ocean world premise will doubtlessly remind viewers of Water World, but such a comparison is coincidental at best.Gargantia mixes high sci-fi concepts with classic dystopian themes and strings it all together with an optimistic humanist message. Indeed, at the heart of Gargantia is an egalitarian outlook grounded in a more socially-minded sense of liberty. That ...

The best anime since Code Geass
Truly a wonderful anime! The characters are fun and interesting and grow as the story unfolds. The animation & art are absolutely brilliant. I couldn't wait for the next episode every time and the payoff was great. The creators could have done so much more with an anime so rich with content to draw from but thy put the 13 episodes to good use. A must watch for more serious anime fans.

The best show of the season
The animation is amazing and the characters are all lovable. It has a strong story and a large amount of smooth character growth. The storyline is not entirely unique (reminds me a lot of xamd) but is still very refreshing and compelling. Easily the best show of its season and will keep you wanting more even after its over.

Fish out of water anime with mech
This isn't a mech-centric anime. Mechs just happen to be in it.
Essentially it's a fish out of water story where Ledo get's in touch with his humanity.
Various facts about Ledo's old home, Galactic Empire, and earth are revealed throughout the series to add background as well motivation for Ledo.

    Visually amazing! Great story!
This is definitely my number one or two pick for the season. Can't decide whether I like this or Attack on Titan more. The production value and overall animation is superb and it has one of the more interesting story lines for a "mech" series. There is some great character development and Ledo is one of the stronger main characters this anime season so I truly believe this will series will ...

    water world x mechas?
This anime feels like the movie water world has come to life with a whole new feel. As if mechas had just protruded their way into the story and twisted it into something completely different. I really like the unique character appearances along with the very different clothing compared to other animes.

  • Powerful so far...pleasantly surprised
A lot of human emotion in this one, anxious to see how it develops. As it goes on, they'll need more conflict beyond what has been shown. I'm hopeful it exists....ledo's development is intoxicating.

  • Great & Intriguing Story
When i first started watching this series i thought that it was going to be another bland mecha series that made little sense. Keep in mind I am the type of person who didn't like Evangelion, but loved Code Geass, so i was a bit surprised when similar practical elements of that series were shown in this one. And then eventually scientific themes of dystropia and the likes faded into play that ...
