  • Absolutely Loved It!!
This is an extremely lovely tale of a boys adventure on a new planet. While the character relationships need a little more development I think, It was still not enough to detract from the uniqueness of this show. It has great action sequences and a wonderful story line.

  • It's Hard to explain
I watched this whole series in a day, and I'll be honest, I can't explain how much this series has taught me about myself and how much this will influence my decisions and thought in the future. So, if you're reading this before you watch the series, just start watching, cause it'll really hit deep.

    Just Awful, A waste.
It had an interesting start. I honestly thought it had promise. But the characters are so unlikeable, their attitudes so hypocritical, the plot so bland. I couldn't continue it. Such a waste.

The animation, however, was very smooth and just lovely to look at. Which, in a way, is even worse than if it had no redeeming qualities at all.

  • An amazing creation to watch
This is one of the amazing works that you can find, it shows the culture gaps between the very advanced and the "past" meeting together. He learns more on how to behave properly and they learn to befriend each other as they try to live together in peace. There are some hilarious moments, and some serious moments that challenges one of the character's way of thinking. All in all, a great ...

  • It's great! Short but that might be a better for the story.
Great story that was compressed into only 13ep. The atmosphere really gives the story more depth. I got what I wanted out of this anime. It managed to get a good amount of story in for being short. The animation quality is on par to boot. For everyone saying the story was rushed I just would like to point out that most anime are this short and feel even more rushed with gaping hole but still ...

  • I could nitpick, but frankly I don't want to - this series simply has it all
As other series have demonstrated, mixing genres, trying to be several things at once is not an easy thing to do well. This is especially true for one cour anime, where the producers only have 12 or 13 episodes to work with. The more sides, facets such a show has, the less time can be spent on each, which can easily lead to all of them being subpar. And yet, despite all the looming pitfalls, ...

I'm being generous by giving this 4 stars
    This review will contain spoilers.

This was an overall good anime. What bothers me is that I felt this anime had so much more potential which was wasted on the last few episodes.

To start off, I thought it was interesting the way the Galactic Alliance (humanity) was at war with a potential "alien" race, as we start off believing, called the Hideauze. The humans are defeated in the battle ...

    Definitely worth watching
Incredibly interesting set up and story line. The language barrier was a really cool twist. The entire series keeps you interested and wanting more. The only way it could have been better is if it were longer than thirteen episodes and two OVAs. I watched the entire series in one night...

Mecha Encounter of the Better Kind
Among the many means of evaluation for mecha anime, there are two categories that most shows tend to fall into: those that use the mecha as a central plot element, and those that use them merely as supporting elements. Gargantia on the Verdurous Planet belongs to the latter group, and it's a better show for it.

Let's get one thing out of the way first: there's nothing wrong with battle-oriented ...
