    Caught me by Surprise!
Wow, That's all i have to say, WOW.
At first, i thought this was going to be your typical Mecha Anime and blah; and boy was i wrong! The first 10-15 mins might not get your attention because it feels like any other space mecha anime but then boom, it suddenly grabs your attention. I'm not going to spoil anything but when the main protagonist "Ensign Ledo" gets sucked into a guess a worm ...

  • My kind of science fiction
I have watched all 11 episodes that are out now and can't say enough good about it. It has all the elements I love such as a future setting, restructured society, good characters, strong emotions. I was already loving it and then it got even better with a deeper story and more philosophy. While it kind of has the normal mix of characters, I don't mind because they are all so good. Great voice ...

  • Mecha meets Dystopian
There are few mecha animes that I enjoy anymore, due mostly to the fact everything has been done (and over-done at times). But Gargantia is a delightful blend of action, character development, and story. In fact, I love the sci-fi, dystopian, and waterworld-esque mixture, to say nothing of the adorable relationship growing between Ledo, Amy, and Bebel. Yet another anime I hope continues well after ...

  • Great & Intriguing Story
When i first started watching this series i thought that it was going to be another bland mecha series that made little sense. Keep in mind I am the type of person who didn't like Evangelion, but loved Code Geass, so i was a bit surprised when similar practical elements of that series were shown in this one. And then eventually scientific themes of dystropia and the likes faded into play that ...

  • Powerful so far...pleasantly surprised
A lot of human emotion in this one, anxious to see how it develops. As it goes on, they'll need more conflict beyond what has been shown. I'm hopeful it exists....ledo's development is intoxicating.

    water world x mechas?
This anime feels like the movie water world has come to life with a whole new feel. As if mechas had just protruded their way into the story and twisted it into something completely different. I really like the unique character appearances along with the very different clothing compared to other animes.

    Visually amazing! Great story!
This is definitely my number one or two pick for the season. Can't decide whether I like this or Attack on Titan more. The production value and overall animation is superb and it has one of the more interesting story lines for a "mech" series. There is some great character development and Ledo is one of the stronger main characters this anime season so I truly believe this will series will ...

Fish out of water anime with mech
This isn't a mech-centric anime. Mechs just happen to be in it.
Essentially it's a fish out of water story where Ledo get's in touch with his humanity.
Various facts about Ledo's old home, Galactic Empire, and earth are revealed throughout the series to add background as well motivation for Ledo.

The best show of the season
The animation is amazing and the characters are all lovable. It has a strong story and a large amount of smooth character growth. The storyline is not entirely unique (reminds me a lot of xamd) but is still very refreshing and compelling. Easily the best show of its season and will keep you wanting more even after its over.
