The Genshiken Nidaime, I have to say, must have been confusing for many to deal with. Though it was confusing, the BL references and @'Rotten Girls' was the best I've seen yet. Sure, you're dealing with a very intimate character who is just trying to find, A. himself and B. the industry he's trying to step into. You get a feel of how pressurized it is in society to want you be something, but you ...

  • Genshiken Nidaime Review
I liked this series quite a bit. It's a nice look into fujoshi fandom. I think it's probably the only series I've seen that is entirely devoted to it.(feel free to send me a message if you know of more). That being said, I think it's a great addition to the animated Genshiken series. If you liked the previous series, you'll probably like this.

    If you liked season 1...
... then prepare to be disappointed. I wasn't particularly fond of any of the new characters, and the ones they kept were so watered down it was as if they were new characters too (except maybe Madarame). Also, the main character was just annoying. They took an anime i loved and turned into another typical cookie cutter story.

Sister Fujoshi. Sister Fujoshi Everywhere. (And then Hato)
Well, I enjoyed this after only watching half of the original Genshiken. I think I'd like it even if it was new to me. Sure, I might be confused at some parts but I loved it.

Anime creators are taking notice of us, my sister rotten girls! Have you noticed the rise of fujoshi characters in anime? We're being noticed! YAY! Gotta love Hato's yaoi though...

So I thought that Hato and ...

    Interesting, but Awkward
I feel bad giving this a three star review, but let me explain why.

Basically, I've recently been binging on series trying to find good stuff. I watched this right after Watamote, trying for another "slice of life" anime. I got it, sort of, and I like the references it makes, the otaku look at life, but really, for me at least, I didn't love it. I feel like if the first Genshiken was available ...

A fun romp through BL culture and a great addition to the franchise
Second Season / Generation is my first outing in the Genshiken universe and I have to say I very much enjoyed it. There are many anime that have touched on the subject of the otakuness from the male perspective. Second Generation is a refreshing look from the other side done in a funny, touching, and respectful manner. The characters are fun to watch and each moves forward in the series in their ...

Near and Dear to my Heart~ <3
The Genshiken series has always been one of my top 5 favorite Anime/Manga series, and I can't express my immense joy when they announced this series after years of nothing. I think the new characters are lively and vibrant which helps this series along wonderfully since it takes place mostly in the same location, a small room. I loved and adored the interaction between the old characters and the ...

Very good but not quite on par with previous seasons
This new Genshiken is definitevely a good anime. The characters are interesting and the atmosphere is still nailed. But where the original was reflexive and realistic, even thou was funny and exciting, this new series is just "too anime". i mean, too much "out of this world" situation and resolutions.

Still quite and enjoyable tough. I specially liked the way they touched on the whole sexual ...

    Great Series, Want More!
Really enjoyed this series, and have to admit to being depressed something so challenging to my shounen otaku sensibilities was over so quickly. If you like slice of life anime with a dose of cringe comedy and floating sexual identity (both figurative and literal!) you can't go wrong with this season of Genshiken.

Big step down towards average (picks up in the end)
I'm a big fan of the original Genshiken, a realistic and funny anime about an Otaku circle in a Japanese university. Every character seemed fleshed out and relatively realistic, and the introduction of the very not-otaku Kasukabe created a lot of tension, especially between her and uber-otaku Madarame. It was generally slow-paced and reflective on otaku subculture.

But now most of the ...
