An Honest Review: After Watching 14 Episodes.
Some of the other reviews were written after only ONE episode. That isn't fair to any anime, and really does a disservice to anime fans who would have enjoyed a really good show. I'm finally getting around to writing my review after watching 14 episodes. So, I think I can give a good idea of what to expect.

Kanetsugu and Keiji are two powerful samurai who are very good friends (almost like ...

Early Impression: Perfect for a small group of anime fans
If you are really into Japanese history or manly men standing around being manly (or both) then this show looks like it will be perfect for you. Lots to learn and digest and the characters might be interesting enough to learn about if you can get past a couple things:
1- The Writing. It seems lazy at best. Phrases are repeated and attempts at humor are just barely there
2- The Music. Its pretty ...

  • This is an amazing anime.
The anime is great for people who like samurai dramas and Shakespeare. The plot is not an action packed blaster anime but rather a user of traditional tropes. Think of Hamlet. If you quote like in that play I doubt they are from the action scenes. That is how this anime is. The action is a tool to display the nature of the individual characters. Sneaky characters are sneaky, forthright are ...

  • I was bored to tears
I found this series to be extremely boring. Those that like manly men and historical anime might like it more than I did but the dialog between the characters seemed strained at best the writers didn't seem to know what to have them say to each other. This may have been part of the "manly men" mentality that they wanted to get across I'm not sure. The drawing seemed good. There was quite a lot of ...

  • One word to describe this anime... Enticing!
I enjoyed every minute of every episode. The story lines and unique characters are what make this anime extraordinarily attractive.

    Something Different to watch
If you think about it most anime do not give you that much background information in the beginning. Most just keep stringing you along until the season is almost over and your waiting for the next season or you find out that the writers are on hiatus or are not making any more episodes. Hopefully more people will catch on to this. Last, I almost bypassed this because I was only looking at the ...

    very interesting history anime
This show is a real sleeper and not kid oriented. It has humor, intelligent writing, and really cool characters. The artwork is a very over-the-top style, but I agree with those who said watch more than the first couple of eps. You won't be disappointed.

    Nice all around anime
First I would like to start off by saying this IS a Flashback anime.. So far the entire anime has been flashbacks and the cut scenes are the present. It is very clear and stated at the beginning. The anime is based on the past battles and trails of the 2 main characters and it is very laid back and fun to watch.

If you only watch the first episode you may think it will be about 2 huge guys ...

Absolutely worth your time if you like historical anime
At first glance, you might be put off by the manly men with necks as big as tree trunks. %) But hang on...watch a few episodes and you'll find yourself laughing out loud with the characters. History buffs will get a kick out of the story.
