A soft and gentle anime, sort of like Nastume Yuujinchou
This is your typical anime about a Shrine Maiden running a shrine with a Deity by their side. If you have watched the Nastume Yuujinchou series then you will definitely like this anime because they pretty much have the same elements.

A Sassy Silver Fox and A Miyazaki Heroine
First Impression: A tame version of Inuyasha (sans the romance and action) meets Natsume's Book of Friends. Makoto exhibits many traits of a Miyazaki heroine, while Gintaro's brash arrogance evokes reminders of Inuyasha's attitude in the early episodes.

Visuals: The visuals are very good at setting the tone and atmosphere. The funeral scene is designed in muted tones with low ...

A Slice of Life Anime Worth Your Time
I didn't know what to expect from Gingitsune: Messenger Fox of the Gods when I first went in, but coming out of it I know I got a great slice of life anime. The characters are quite funny and the plot doesn't throw too much at you, and just lets you enjoy the fun ride. You will grow attached to these characters, my personal favourite was Gintaro the lazy fox God, and you just come to respect the ...

    Good show but needs more
Too short of a series even though I enjoyed every episode. I feel like it could have been at least 24 episodes to give us a little more about each character and where their lives went from the Summer Cleansing on. Very nostalgic feel, some moments reminded me of Natusume Yuujinchou. Overall a good series. 4/5 stars.

    Nice and captivating series.
There is no angst or very sad stories in this series, like Natsume (http://www.crunchyroll.com/natsume-yujin-cho), but calm accepting cuteness during the twelve story's chapters. There will be no fan-service in this one, what is a good thing after so many panties, and other things, empty stories around.
The story is based on shrines, their keepers, and deities. The relationship ...

A really fun and cute anime, that's deeper than it looks.
*UPDATE* There is one more very important aspect about this anime that I overlooked. And that's the surprisingly very deep message it has. Even bigger than the whole, "family, friends" message I described earlier.

    Left me wanting more!
This one makes my heart smile! Warm, welcoming, and beautifully done, I was sad to see it end!

I didn't felt it fell more into the Slice of Life genre than anything else, the characters are interesting easy to relate to, as well as likeable! The art is beautifully done and fits the storyline creating a great representation of the setting.

I wish there were more! I would love to see ...

    Love Love this Anime Series!!!
Such a heart warming anime, full of cute and funny scenes. This is my current favorite fall-winter anime. I really love the art and just the whole storyline to this. It's not like one of those animes where the storyline is just pointless and it has nothing good after. This is actually a really good anime with great visuals and an awesome storyline. I love how cute this show is, always makes me ...

    A World I Wish I Lived In
Since its defeat in the Second World War, Japan has done something nearly unique -- arranged things so that its traditional religions can live comfortably with its rationalist economics, education, and politics. Such an accomplishment is worth trying to understand, and this anime helped me to achieve that. I could see how the Shinto shrines in the story, and the people in them, fit into the ...
