A soft and gentle anime, sort of like Nastume Yuujinchou
This is your typical anime about a Shrine Maiden running a shrine with a Deity by their side. If you have watched the Nastume Yuujinchou series then you will definitely like this anime because they pretty much have the same elements.

A Sassy Silver Fox and A Miyazaki Heroine
First Impression: A tame version of Inuyasha (sans the romance and action) meets Natsume's Book of Friends. Makoto exhibits many traits of a Miyazaki heroine, while Gintaro's brash arrogance evokes reminders of Inuyasha's attitude in the early episodes.

Visuals: The visuals are very good at setting the tone and atmosphere. The funeral scene is designed in muted tones with low ...

Happiness comes in a cute, shinto inspired, high pitch voiced schoolgirl uniformed package.
I've been waiting for something like this for quite some time. As a kid, I watched a good amount of anime. One of my favorites, was Rumiko Takahashi's Inuyasha. I loved the shinto influence, and the old Japanese tales, but not so much the fighting, so this is for me, probably the best thing to have come around. I love the art, and I love the characters. I don't expect this anime to become too ...

very comedic and fun. I hope this continues like this for a while. Its a lot like fruits basket. lets just hope they dont leave us hanging like that.
This series has some humor mixed with sadness and old world magic

    good character interaction
A good heart warming and funny story. Good story teaches you about shrines in Japan. The story also centers around the shrine and the family and heralds that live there. The story is about getting along with each other.

    Love Love this Anime Series!!!
Such a heart warming anime, full of cute and funny scenes. This is my current favorite fall-winter anime. I really love the art and just the whole storyline to this. It's not like one of those animes where the storyline is just pointless and it has nothing good after. This is actually a really good anime with great visuals and an awesome storyline. I love how cute this show is, always makes me ...

I look forward to this show every weekend
As this show has progressed I have become more impatient in waiting for each eps. There were some annoying parts early on (the money heralds for one). But it has settled into a simple yet entertaining show. I do wish they would have included more of the father, Tatsuo as I am seeing a young man who is just coming into his own as the head Priest of the shrine and getting enough confidence in his ...

  • A break from energy.
After so many anime full of sports, magic, mystery, blood, lots of feelings and so much more energy this is a very calm and gentle story. I agree there should have been more development of the characters and there are still things to be said but we can still read the manga for that until there is a chance for a second season.

This definitely deserves to be watch specially if you want to be ...

A Slice of Life Anime Worth Your Time
I didn't know what to expect from Gingitsune: Messenger Fox of the Gods when I first went in, but coming out of it I know I got a great slice of life anime. The characters are quite funny and the plot doesn't throw too much at you, and just lets you enjoy the fun ride. You will grow attached to these characters, my personal favourite was Gintaro the lazy fox God, and you just come to respect the ...

    Pleasantly surprised!
I would categorize this anime under "slice of life" with "supernatural" sprinkled in.
The main character has the ability to see heralds but it's not the primary story line. It's about a girl that goes to school, makes friends, and just so happens to live in a shrine and see the herald which resides there. It really is a heartwarming anime and I recommend it to those who like watching "slice of ...
