  • Painfully Honest and Charming -- a must watch
It's funny, it's melancholic, and it establishes a world and characters that I was intrigued to know more about and who I hope we get to know more about with a season 2 (fingers crossed!). It's one of those shows where it's so cute on the surface that the sharp writing and cutting wit come as a refreshing shock. Utterly satisfying and endlessly entertaining.

  • Warm and mature . . . Heartily recommended!
Truly a great show that's filled with meta humour, character nuance, and a touch of cynicism, this is a slice of life drama that delivers more than just moe, it has a warm and mature feeling to it. Heartily recommended!

Girlish Number manages to hit the sweetspot for me, it's cute and endearing without being fluffy and forgettable, most notable is the care put into the theme and characters ...

  • Anime about....voice acting???
Some people are saying that slice of life genre has no development, ther're defenetly wrong. Girlish Number is one of those anime "cute girls doing something". The story in this anime pretty decent, drawing was done in pretty good way. Overall, I really enjoyed this anime.

Everyone is a terrible person and I love it
For someone with a dark and cynical soul, this anime truly spoke to me. Whether it was ego filled characters engaging in bold unsubstantiated boasting or cute girls casually slinging the harshest insults, I was constantly entertained and frequently laughing. Who knew that all it took to make a drama/comedy I enjoyed was to make everyone irredeemable assholes? Unfortunately, instead of doubling ...

    A cool voice actor anime
there nothing like anime that give's you a chance to see what happens behind the scenes. There a few that are really good and i hope like this one that we more episodes it really good. the characters are up and coming and it talks a lot about talent and how age has a lot to do with how your career directions change and that there always someone younger coming to take your spot. i like that it ...

  • Much better that expected!
Girlish number is not the anime to learn about voice actors and actresses. It is much more about watching a young and fresh voice actress (Chitose) go though a few challenges that are much more mental than physical challenges, but they are relatable. I went in expecting that Chitose would learn how to use her voice to fill more than just one type of role, but what I got was Chitose learning to ...

Good for a laugh- put this on your list to watch if you have time
It won't be anyone's AOTS but this is a good show. So far this is a story of how not to make an anime. The early episodes hooked me, but I'm still waiting to see if the plot will come together. The animation seems good, and the characters are cute and funny. Put this on your list to watch if you have time.

    Surprisingly interesting
I have zero knowledge of how voice acting works, so getting a behind-the-scenes look at it is pretty interesting. I like how none of the characters are good or bad, they're just a bunch of people with different ambitions and perspectives. The main character, Chitose, isn't exactly likable, but she's not a bad person, and seeing her try to figure out her place in the voice acting world is ...

    Girl Talk with attitude
A comical, straightforward story about getting into the voice acting industry. The overall mood of the show is humorous, sarcastic, and blunt in unexpected ways. On the surface it seems like a very shallow SoL adventure about a generic "coming of age story", but when you take a deeper look, there's an unexpectedly deep peek into the "human social experience". If I had to say something bad about ...

A very necessary companion to Shirobako
4 episodes in and I think I can easy say that this is a good show. I'll start my review by explaining the title. One of the great things about Shirobako was how optimistic a show it was while at the same time giving us a good glimpse of what the anime production world can be, full of people who love their work and are dedicated heart and soul to producing the best they can. Girlish Number is the ...
