Shaman King fans welcome to the group!! Hope you enjoy it and invite your friends if ya want ! Anyone can join =)

Yoh Asakura is the main character of Shaman King. He sleeps in class and walks around with orange headphones. He's also a shaman; he can talk, see, and even merge the spirits inside his own body. He's always the positive kind of guy. His guardian spirit is Amidamaru, a samurai killed 600 years ago. His weapon is a katana named Sword of Light (called Harusame in the Japanese version, which means "Spring Rain" and not Sword of Light). Later he'll merge Amidamaru in Harusame to make a more powerful kind of over-soul.

Len is a Shaman from China, one of the few remaining members of the Tao Family, who after their years of serving as the guardians of the Forbidden City, became outcasts and condemned as witches and devils. Those two centuries of suffering were the fuel of the hatred En Tao bared for those outside of their clan and even more for those of the Tao family who associated themselves with outsiders like his brother, Len's father (in the Japanese version, En Tao is Len's father, not his uncle).

Mortimer (or "Morty") is Yoh's best friend. Unusually, though he lacks any Shaman abilities (at first), he still possesses the ability to see ghosts like Amidamaru. He becomes fascinated with the Shaman Fight and travels along with Yoh in his quest to become Shaman King.

Much later in the series Morty actually becomes a shaman, with Mosuke, Amidamaru's friend, as his guardian ghost.

Anna is a powerful shaman. However, unlike Yoh, she doesn't get possessed by spirits. She is an Itako, a special kind of Shaman who can call spirits from heaven and banish spirits to hell.

Anna saved Yoh from mega spirit trouble when they were younger. She told him that she wanted him and nothing else, so he said oaky, she saved him, and is now his fiancee.

Now Anna is Yoh's trainer for the Shaman Fights. She can be so evil to him, but little by little, she shows that she truly loves him.

Anna is Yoh's fiance, and boy is she strict! When we first meet Anna in the manga she appears at the hospital where Yoh is at after his fight with Ren. She tells Yoh that he will be put under her training program and that the Shaman Fight is coming to Tokyo.

After a few weeks it's back to school, and Yoh looks terrible! Manta asks Yoh what happened over the break and he tells Manta that the break was like boot camp in Hell. Just then Anna appears, for she is now going to their school. After that, we come to Yoh and Anna's house (which is haunted, by the way). This is when the Tokagero incident happens and we see the caring side of Anna when Yoh gets possessed by Tokagero. Then when that's over the comet for the Shaman Fight appears. We shall know more of Anna soon...

Horo-Horo is a pro snowborder and also a shaman. He wants to win the Shaman tournament to help the race of the Minutians (Koropokkur in the Japanese version) by planting a whole field of coltsfoot plants in the Northern Woods (Hokkaido in the Japanese version).

He has a sister named Pirika who drives him to the limit while training him to win the tournament. His spirit is Kororo, a Minutian, and he is capable of using the Oversoul technique, merging Kororo into his snowboard.

In the Japanese version, Horohoro states that he's from Hokkaido. In the English version, I believe, he only specifies that he's from the Northern Woods. Also, in the Japanese version, Horo-horo is his nickname, while in the English version it is his real name.

Yoh and Morty find Trey just before the Shaman King contest. They take him in off the road.

When the Shaman contest begins, Yoh and Trey are paired up against each other. Trey's sister, Pilika, finds him before the battle in Yoh's house and thinks that Yoh, Anna and Morty might try poisoning Trey, so she makes him leave and they go live in a forest nearby.

Trey and Pilika come from a forest with creatures that are dying out very fast. Trey and his sister are trying to win the Shaman Tournament in order to save the creatures. Trey's special ability is ice and snow.

Rio was the leader of a band of outcasts called (in the English dub) the Dead Enders. The Dead Enders were always looking for the "Sacred Hang" (a "Best Place" if you will) to find where they belong. They tried the graveyard on Monument Hill, where Rio knocks over Amidamaru's tombstone and beats up Morty who was there to take pictures of Yoh with some spirits.

The next night, Yoh used Unity (Oversoul) with Amidamaru to beat Rio in battle (cutting off his hair). Rio and the Dead Enders retreat, leaving the graveyard. When Rio first met Len Tao, Len attacked him and his gang. Yoh saved them from Len, but when Yoh too was being over powered, Rio saved Yoh's life.

Inspired by Yoh, Rio decides to become a shaman himself and asks Yoh to train him. He tried his best, but Rio wasn't making any progress becoming a shaman and almost gave up. However, when a vengeful spirit named Tokagero invades his body, his shaman ability awakened.

He eventually left the Dead Enders to become a proper shaman. Now, trained by Mikihisa and with Tokagero (who was removed from Rio's body) as now his spirit partner, Rio has become a powerful shaman with a new mission in life. This mission is to win the shaman tournament, and get a girlfriend.

Note: Ryunosuke, Rio's name in the Japanese version, means "dragon".

Jun is a Dao-Shi, a person who can control zombies using paper seals on them. She's also the older sister of Len Tao, who is trying for the title of Shaman King. When Len was defeated by Yoh, he told his sister that he wanted Yoh's ghost, Amidamaru, for himself. She offers to help.

She ambushes Yoh with her zombies, but he managed to trash them. She soon set up a trap with her Zombie Guardian, a form kung fu master movie star named Lee Pailong (also spelled Lee Bailong). But when Yoh frees him from Jun's control by breaking the talismon on Lee's forehead, Lee remembers how he died and goes into a vengeful rage against Jun for her family murdering him and for all the bad things she had made him do.

Yoh integrates with Lee's old master and manages to calm him, saving Jun, as well as giving Lee a new purpose, to stay as Jun's partner and to achive his dream of perfecting Dao Dan Do. From that day on, Jun never supported either side of the fight, but hopes inwardly that Yoh will win.

Lyserg is really cute. He puts himself down a lot, saying he's weak. When he was looking for 'strong partners', he came across Yoh, Ren, Ryu, and Horo Horo. He wanted to team up with them.

Ryu thought he was a girl at first, and he thought he was hot or whatever. Ryu took him to Yoh, and Lyserg was totally freaked out, and hurt Horo Horo and Ren. Yoh slapped him and told him that partners don't hurt each other. Lyserg is determined to kill Hao, because Hao killed his mother and father when he was six, and he is all alone now.

When he sees that Yoh looks a lot like Hao, he gets all weird. And teams up with the X-Laws because they want to kill Hao too.

His spirit is Chloe (Morphin in the Japanese version, which is a play on the word "Morphine"), and she loves to eat sweet stuff.

Note: One fan pointed out that the name Lyserg Diethel might be a play on "lysergic acid diethylamide" (also known as LSD), a hallucinogen found in the fungus ergot, and used by some shamans to see beyond the physical world.

Note: In episode 28 (according to the subtitles), Lyserg is revealed to have been 6 years old when he recieved Morphin, and later in the the same episode it's said that the Shaman Tournament was 8 years in the future. This would make Lyserg 14 years old.

Hao is the not only the twin brother of Yoh, but his ancestor as well. By learning to master the five elements (the 1st four of the human world, the last of spirit world), Hao became a god among Shamans. He was once kind and used his power to help others, but when he began having visions of the evil which lay inside those humans that he saved, he became determined to become Shaman King and rid the world of non-shaman humans.

But Hao was assassinated by his own family and sealed... though since he had mastered all five elements, Hao had the power to reincarnate himself once every 5 centuries so that he could fight for the title of Shaman King.

In his 1st reincarnation, Hao was a part of the Patch Tribe. He seemed normal at first, but by the time the Shaman Tournament began, Hao stole and mastered the Spirit of Fire, a very powerful spirit made by the Great Spirits of the Patch Tribe. Despite how powerful he became, Hao was by killed by YohKen Asakura and Matamune.

On his recent reincarnation, Hao was born as Zeke, Yoh's brother. Milkihisa tried to kill him while he could (despite that he may have needed to kill Yoh too), but Zeke summoned his Spirit of Fire to protect both him and his brother, scaring their father in the process. Zeke left soon after to assemble followers for his cause. Some follow him for power, some shared the same ideals Hao possesses, and others out of sheer loyalty, especially Opacho. They who turned Zeke down or are weak and useless are incinerated by him.

But despite the fact Yoh wants to stop him, Zeke only wishes for his 'brother' to be as strong as he is... so he can absorb his spirit.

Hao's first life was more than 1000 years ago, when he was part of the Asakura family. Then when he mastered the 5 elements and was killed by the Asakuras, he reincarnated 500 years later as an Apache to steal the Spirit of Fire. That time he was killed by Yohken Asakura. Finally he reincarnated for a second time and came out as Yoh's twin, his soul was separated in two, the 'good' part which is Yoh, and the 'evil' which is Hao. So, in total, he had 3 lives.
