Seven invaluable rings worn by the seven core members of the Vongola Family. During every new generation, the rings are passed on to the seven next worthy members of the family, proving they belong to the Vongola Family.

During the tenth generation, each of the rings were shown to have been split in half for the 2 groups (Tsuna's family and the Varia; 14 people). Each person who wore half a ring were to battle the opposing member, who wore the corresponding half, in order to become a core member. By the end of the Vongola Tournament, all the rings were in the possession of Tsuna's Family.

During the future, it is revealed that the adult Tsuna had destroyed the Vongola Rings for unknown reasons, but speculation is that he did it in order to prevent further bloodshed.

According to Reborn, when crisis hits the family, the Sky must gather all six of his guardians in order to triumph over the predicament.
The rings are capable of emitting a Dying Will Flame; a different colored flame for each of the main rings. The higher the purity of the flame, the more clear it will appear, and the more power
it can draw out from the characteristics of its attribute.
All the rings have a crest which corresponds to the ring's type of weather. The Ring of Sky, however, only has a clear dome and the Vongola Family crest underneath it.
The characteristics of the first Vongola members are carved into the rings.

Besides the seven main rings, there are several miscellaneous rings which possess different abilities. Each ring can be categorized into one of the main Vongola Rings (i.e. Ring A is a Sky type, Ring B is a Rain type, Ring C is a Storm type, etc.). Each ring also has a purity grade (the highest being A, however, the main rings have a purity grade of above A, just like the Arcobaleno's pacifiers) in order to determine the power of the ring: the lower the grade, the weaker the power of the ring. The rings also have different flame colors, each one corresponding with the original flame colors of the main rings.

The infant hitman, who becomes Tsuna's home tutor, and drags him into becoming a mob boss. Vongola IX's most trusted hitman, Reborn is sent to train Tsuna. Despite being a mere one year old infant, he behaves as a seasoned mafioso.

Reborn often says "Ciao-su" (a mix of the Italian "ciao" and the Japanese "osu", which is a casual male greeting). He appears to see nothing unusual in any of his own behavior and has an unlimited supply of various clothing. He also has several hidden compartments all around town. Sometimes seen covered in insects, Reborn claims that they are his "ears and eyes" all over town, obtaining information before anyone else.

Since he is an official member of the Vongola Family and is only there to train Tsuna, he is not allowed to directly interfere with most of Tsuna's battles other than to shoot special bullets. He is, however, allowed to defend against attacks directed solely at him.

In the future, Reborn is mentioned to be dead. In order to avoid the Negative Seven Rays, the past's Reborn remains in Tsuna's underground base and wears a special suit. At one time, however, his shadow looks like that of an older man, even suggests that he has a "true form." He later indicates to Yamamoto that he has been training since before he became a baby.

In certain occasions, Reborn randomly disappears and reappears as "another person", wearing a different outfit along with a fake name, who no one except Tsuna recognizes. His known aliases include:

Master Pao-Pao - A master fighter from Thailand. He wears an elephant hat, red boxing gloves, and a tiny goatee. He usually appears in scenes where Ryohei is present.

Rebo-Yama - A substitute teacher for Tsuna's class. He switches his clothes into a typical teacher outfit. He teaches the class with fear by throwing bombs and also chalk, which disintegrates due to high velocity. He sports the same hair style as Yamamoto hence the name "Rebo-Yama" .

Vongolasky - Reborn wears a typical set of Russian clothing, but does not change his personality.

Mr. Sawada - Appears in Tsuna's room when Hana Kurokawa visits Tsuna. He wears gigantic glasses, and a robe.

Dr. Borin - Supposedly one of the most prestigious mathematicians known in the world. In this case, he does not change into a different outfit. Leon Reborn's chameleon "partner", who sits on Reborn's fedora. He can change shape and color as per Reborn's desire, provided he is familiar with the object he will turn into and the object is roughly his size. The bullets used by Reborn are created inside Leon. When Reborn's student is gradually progressing, Leon's tail falls off, his shape-shifting abilities becomes unstable, he is no longer able to create bullets, and wraps himself in a spheric cocoon. After this stage, Leon creates special items for the student, then returns to his normal self.

As a blood member of the Vongola family Tsuna possesses the Vongola bloodline. This gives him unique traits; such as using the Dying Will Flame, and having a strong intuition.

Tsuna is capable of using the Dying Will Flame (when shot with special bullets), which is a form of high pressured energy capable of having destructive powers or purifying evil auras. It initially lies within a person's body until it is awakened, helping increase a person's strength:

* Dying Will Bullet # (死ぬ気弾, Shinu ki Dan?) - When Tsuna is shot by Reborn's Dying Will Bullet, it uses the pressure he faces during a crisis to externally remove Tsuna's body limiters. He then uses his increased strength and renewed confidence to fulfill his dying will; the last thought he regretted before being shot. Although, this effect only lasts for 5 minutes. (Although it seems that at different times, the effects of the Dying Will Shot are extended. Such as the battle against the fake Rokudo Mukuro, (a.k.a. Lanchia) the Dying Will Flame lasted much longer than the previous times. Although it could be that when the "regret" is accomplished, the Dying Will Flame goes away. Although this is not proven yet.)
# Dying will: - When a person is able to control the full potential and power of the dying will they are able to go to dying will mode/hyper dying will mode any time. Reborn said that any one has the potential to do this but not many people can restand the training phases. * Rebuke Shot (小言弾, Kogoto Dan) - When shot by the Rebuke Bullet,(Can be roughly translated as "Muttering Bullet" Tsuna is able to hear people's rebukes (criticism by others). It allows Tsuna's dormant 'Vongola Blood' to awaken. Rather than removing his body limiters externally, it awakens Tsuna's hidden willpower; internally removing his body limiters. He receives the same strength as he does with the Dying Will Bullet. It also removes the limiters on his internal senses giving him 'Hyper Intuition' (Tsuna already has a strong intuition, as does everyone who shares the Vongola bloodline). Although, unlike the Dying Will Bullet, the Rebuke Bullet allows Tsuna to apply his strength more calmly and wisely. He conserves energy and accurately expels it against others in a sharper manner. Unlike the Dying Will Bullet, the Rebuke Bullet seems to have no time limit. This is shown in the battle against XANXUS. Whether this is true or not is un-explained. So far, there hasn't been a time where the effects of the Rebuke Shot went away when Tsuna didn't mean for it to go. (Excluding the one time he passed out at the end of the battle against XANXUS. Though this is only because he was exhausted.)
* X-Gloves (イクスグローブ, IKUSU GUROOBU) - Created by Reborn's pet, Leon, these gloves were made especially for Tsuna. He first used the gloves in chapter 78. At first, it appears to be a simple pair of white, wool mittens with the number 27 stitched onto it, but when used with the Dying Will Flame, it changes into a pair of black gloves with an X engraved onto it. It is made out of the same material as the Dying Will Bullets and can ignite the Dying Will Flame without the help of the Dying Will Bullet, increasing Tsuna's strength even more. It can also use the flame as a speed booster when the flames from the gloves are instantly released, causing him to thrust towards his desired direction.

Minus/Zero Point Break Through (零地点突破, Zero chiten toppa)- Originally the Vongola 1st's technique. Tsuna goes into a state of Minus point, a pure negative version of the dying will mode. He places his hands together so his thumbs and forefingers create a triangle. In this state, Tsuna can extinguish, and possibly freeze, the Dying Will Flame of others. The Dying Will Flame on his forehead and his gloves disappear, but the X-Gloves don't change back into a mitten. Tsuna also created his own version of the Breakthrough when he fought Xanxus. By inverting one hand and hence creating a square with his thumbs and forefingers, Tsuna is able to 'capture' his opponent's attacks and convert the energy to his own. Both these moves require impeccable timing with regard to capturing the opponent's attack, something Reborn made note of when training Tsuna. Later, during the Future Arc, the crest on Tsuna's gloves changes to indicate the move he is using. Whenever Tsuna uses the original Zero Point Breakthrough, the crest on his gloves changes to a 'I'. Likewise, when using his revised breakthrough, the crest becomes a 'X'. (Or stay as an 'X' if Tsuna wasn't using the original version)

* X-Gloves, Version V.R. (Vongola Ring) - First appearing in chapter 158 after the meeting with the previous Vongola Heads and breaking out of Kyoya Hibari's special box's ability, Spike Ball. The X logo on the gloves are now replaced by a crystal covered crest similar to the one on his Vongola Sky Ring, Lal Mirch said the future Tsuna wore the Vongola ring on his finger but stored on the back of his hand to draw out its power. The full extent of their power has yet to be fully explained. Like his original X-Gloves, Tsuna V.R. X-Gloves can still produce what Lal Mirch calls a 'soft flame'. This flame is precise and can be easily controlled. However, Tsuna's gloves now produce a new type of incredibly explosive flame, a 'hard flame'. This flame is expelled at such great force that the recoil would send Tsuna through a wall. Lal Mirch comments that if this flame could be tamed, it would be a powerful weapon. The gloves also seem to have a point where the power they give Tsuna increases exponentially, though Tsuna has yet to control this power.

X Burner - Tsuna's newest attack that utilizes the two different flames created by his V.R. X-Gloves. Tsuna begins his attack by standing with one hand folded over his other fisted hand. When attacking, Tsuna thrusts one hand forward and sends out a massive blast of his 'hard flame'. In the past, the recoil from the 'hard flame' would send Tsuna flying off his feet. To compensate, Tsuna thrusts his other hand behind him and uses his 'soft flame' to stabilize and dampen the explosive recoil of his attack. Despite the shear overwhelming force of the attack, Tsuna has commented that he is only using 20% of the X Burner's potential power. Since he has not yet learned to master his new gloves, he is afraid to use this attack at full strength, fearing that he may lose control and hurt his friends. During his fight with King Mosca, Reborn encourages Tsuna to attempt the X burner in midair. Though because of his poor control of the technique, Tsuna was knocked unconscious due to the recoil.

Initially, when Tsuna awakened from his Hyper Dying Will Mode (X-Gloves in conjunction with the Dying Will Flame caused by the Rebuke Bullet), he was unable to move for two weeks without experiencing muscle pains. After strict training, he was able to compensate for his lack of endurance and is now able to enter this mode without experiencing any muscle pains afterwards.

Later in the series, Tsuna is able to enter into his Hyper Dying Will Mode using either his Vongola Sky ring or the Dying Will pills that Basil gave him without the help of any bullet.

It should be note that outside of his "Dying will flame" power Tsuna is shown to have some kind of telepathic power. This is first shown in the "Mist Battle" when Tsuna was able to sense Mukuro's arrival as well as see Mukuro in his cell. This power is later shown again when he has the same dream as Chrome about Irie Souchie. This might imply that Tsuna has gained this power after his fight with Rokudo Mukuro.

Tsuna is a junior-high student and the Vongola Family's mob-boss-in-training. Since Tsuna is the great-great-great grandson of the first Vongola boss, who had moved to Japan a long time ago, he is recruited as the next boss. (All other candidates for the position of the head of the Vongola Family died)

As one of the Vongola family's tenth generation guardians, and the guardian of the Vongola Ring of Storm, Gokudera has access to great power. In the Future Arc, his ring transforms into a specific weapon when combined with its ring boxes, also emitting its own Dying Will flame.

Gokudera has a knack for school and is quite intelligent; he even created his own code system which we see in the future arc (G-Script) Bombs

Gokudera is known as "Smokin' Bomb Hayato" (スモーキン・ボム 隼人, Sumōkin Bomu Hayato?), using dynamite as his signature weapon. During Gokudera's "dynamite maintenance", it is revealed that he carries huge amounts of dynamite on him at all times.

* Double Bomb with mini bombs
* Bomb Blaze

* Rocket Bomb

Originally, Gokudera's main weakness was the fact that although his bombs made a deadly weapon, it was difficult to pinpoint and calculate the exact distance between himself and his target and sync it with the amount of time it would take for the bombs to actually explode. In order to remedy this, during the Varia arc, Gokudera invented a new type of bombs accurately dubbed "Rocket Bombs." Each one, once thrown, causes the backside of the bombs to fire up and rocket towards his opponent like high-speed missiles, which then explode on impact. It was this technique, coupled with Gokudera's cunning that allowed him to defeat Belphegor.

A transfer student that was placed in Tsuna's class. Gokudera, who had previously studied in Italy, is a dynamite expert nicknamed "Smokin' Bomb Hayato. He keeps various explosives hidden on his person and uses those explosives liberally by lighting them with a cigarette (or several) held in his mouth.

Takeshi uses a bat that Reborn gives him. The bat turns into a katana when swung faster than 300km/h, though he initially did not have much skill in using it.

In the future, Takeshi shows a great level of mastery with the sword and the power of the Vongola rings. Even though the main rings were destroyed, he was still able to use the special boxes and their unique powers. When his past self arrives he starts using a box that releases a swallow covered in dying will flame. The swallow is capable of making heavy rain and attacking opponents.

He also borrowed an attack of Squalo's called Attacco Di Squalo(Shark Attack) which when hit by his blade causes a moment of Paralysis because it is fused with his Rain Tranquility flame. It then dulls the paralyzed person's body. Takeshi has stated that he practices with his sword every day and if even 0.01g chips off his sword he would sense it.

[edit] Shigure Souen Style

After coming up short in his first fight against Squalo, and then being told that he would just get in the way by Reborn, he asked his father for kendo lessons. What he did not know was that his father is an incredibly skilled swordsman who uses his sword to kill. His father specializes in the Shigure Souen Style (時雨蒼燕流, Shigure Souen Style?). After completing his kendo training, his father gave him a shinai that could transform into a katana only when wielded by the Shigure Souen Style. It has a special name, the Shigure Kintoki (時雨金時, Shigure Kintoki?).

The Shigure Souen Style is a notoriously deadly sword style that is only passed down to worthy successors. Each 'form' of the style is only shown once to the student - if the student is worthy to succeed, he only needs to see it once to remember how to use it from then on. It originally only had one form that was passed down through generations of successors with each successor creating and adding their own forms resulting in many branches of Shigure Souen Style. However, as new forms were created the weaker branches deteriorate and others disappear as there is no worthy successor. Hence this style can be called as the perfect, flawless style.

The Shigure Souen Style taught to Yamamoto consist of 8 forms; four defensive, four offensive. Coincidentally, the Shigure Souen Style's eight forms all have rain in their names, further establishing Yamamoto's right as the holder of the Ring of Rain.

Yamamoto has further created at least three new forms, forms 9, 10 and 11.

Yamamoto is a seventh-grader and is the popular baseball star of Tsuna's school. He becomes friends with Tsuna, and Reborn tries to recruit him into the Vongola Famiglia. He hardly takes anything seriously, and is often "tricked" by Reborn because he thinks that "It's a game".

Ryohei is said to have been born with naturally strong muscles, possessing greater strength than the average human being.[1] However, he cannot always exert his force to 100%; in his battle with Lussuria, he needed Kyoko's encouragement in order to fully use his power.[2]

Ryohei is an excellent boxer and is always 'extreme' whenever he fights. Having trained as a boxer he is quite proficient in hand to hand combat and is able to take and give a huge amount of physical punishment. He is the third to take the Dying Will Shot, but it has no effect on him since he always lives "to the limit (extreme)", and therefore in Dying Will Mode constantly.

In the future, Ryohei has improved greatly in his ability to box. He also learns Lussuria's footwork techniques in order to gain the ability to move at greater speeds.[3] He also carries an animal box with him, but it is only a backup box, since he relies on his own physical strengths.[4] He is also able to quickly heal himself from drastic wounds using the characteristics of his flame.

Ryohei is a eighth-grader, and is member of the boxing club at Tsuna's school, which he repeatedly asks Tsuna to join. In response, Reborn wants to recruit him into Tsuna's family. Every time he sees Tsuna and his family doing something strange, he gets fired up and always wants to be a part of it.

Known as someone who has driven both the Mafia and police into the most dangerous and desperate of situations, Mukuro is a formidable and deadly opponent.

Though Mukuro's main weapon is a trident, which he always carries with him, he is first and foremost a master of illusions; he can even overpower an Arcobaleno in a battle of its use, albeit Mukuro is also able to use combative skills. Being a skillful user of illusions, he is not easily deceived by illusions that are cast by others, possessing a highly perceptive mind.

He acquired his skills by having followed the ways of the "Six Paths of Reincarnation", which has been carved into his memories, possibly due to the experiments he underwent as a child. He claims that his body has gone through all six paths to Hades, granting him six powerful skills. When using his skills, a Japanese numeral, corresponding to the realm he has entered, appears in his right eye:


* When the symbol "一", representing the number one in Japanese, appears in his eye, it indicates his use of the first realm, the "Realm of Hell", which grants him the power to create illusions.
* Second ("二" represents the number two) is the Realm of Hungry Ghosts, which grants him the power to use the skills of others; when he controls a person's body, he is able to perfectly perform their signature attacks.
* Third ("三" is three) is the Realm of Animals, which grants him the power to summon and control deadly animals.[16]
* Fourth ("四" is four) is the Realm of Asura, which increases his battle skills; when using this skill, a dark flame surrounds his right eye.
* Fifth ("五" is five) is the Realm of Humans, which increases his battle aura, thus his strength; it is considered to be the most dangerous of the Six Realms; when Mukuro first enters the realm, he physically pierces his right eye, and a type of aura, resembling the Dying Will Flame, then surrounds Mukuro's entire body,[18] but unlike the Dying Will Flame, Mukuro's aura, in itself, poses no danger, as it just represents Mukuro's fighting spirit.
* Sixth ("六" is six) is the Realm of Heaven, which grants him the power to control others.

Along with his Six Paths of Reincarnation, Mukuro possesses the Estraneo Family's Possession Bullet, which was deemed forbidden by the rest of the Mafia. When shot by the bullet, the person shot will be able to possess the body of another person. Its use requires the user to have a strong will and an affinity for the bullet itself.

When shot with the bullet, Mukuro is able to possess and control the body of anyone that he has cut with his trident. He can possess several bodies simultaneously, and he is also still able to enter the Six Realms, granting him the ability to use a different skill for each body.

Mukuro is a 15-year-old mafia criminal and leader of the Kokuyo Gang. Before he was to be executed, he, along with his two subordinates, escaped from an Italian prison, which held some of the most dangerous mafia criminals. Not long after, they came to Japan, enrolled in Kokuyo Junior High, and started a gang.

According to Fūta's ranking list of the strongest students of Namimori High, Hibari is the number one strongest student in his school. He is a fierce and well trained fighter who has an almost insatiable bloodlust for a worthy opponent.

As his main weapon, he uses a pair of collapsible steel tonfas. Hibari's tonfas have also been shown to have hidden compartments containing spikes and a grapple that he uses when the situation calls for it. In the future, his tonfas, which he keeps in a ring box, are capable of emitting a Dying Will Flame.

Hibari is the Vongola guardian of the Cloud ring and has become adept at using it in the future. His flame has become so intense that even without his Vongola ring, he is capable of great feats of strength. However, he shatters normal rings when he uses them.

Hibari has been shown to have more knowledge than most concerning the ring boxes and uses them at a very high proficiency. He has four Cloud rings with a C purity, eight Cloud rings with a D purity, and a Mist camouflage ring with an E purity.

Hibari is the leader of the Discipline Committee, or Prefects, whose members happen to be a group of delinquents loyal to Hibari. Although he is a violent delinquent himself, who uses his status to harass others and cares little for his subordinates, he has great pride in his school. He prefers to be alone and uses a pair of tonfa as his main weapons.

The 5 year old Lambo is typically seen toting weapons like machine guns and bazookas. In his 5 year old form his only interesting ability is his Electrico Cuio(Electric Skin)which allows electricity to harmlessly pass through his body. He also possess the 10-year bazooka which allows Lambo to be replaced with an older version of himself from 10 years later.

In his 15 year old form Lambo is slightly more powerful. He still possesses Electrico Cuio. However he has another ability called "Thunder Set" in which he summons lightning and charges it through his body. "Thunder Set" is followed by another technique called Electrico Cornata which charges lighting through Lambo's horns and causes severe shock to whoever the attack connects with. However it rarely works as it is short range and easy to dodge.

The 25 year old Lambo is considerably powerful. He has invented the Perfect Electrico Cuio in which no form of electricity can do him harm. He also created the Electrico Reverse which allows him to take electricity passing through him and gathers into his hand. He then strikes it down allowing the electricity to disperse through the ground. His final ability is an enhanced version of Electrico Cornata in which he can use the electricity in his horns and give it the shape of a blade which makes up for some of its short range.

Lambo is a 5-year-old assassin affiliated with the Bovino ("Bovino" means "cow" in Italian) Famiglia. He was born in Italy on May 28 and has a blood type of A. His main choice of weapons are hand grenades, and his future dream is to rule the world. Lambo dresses in a cow suit complete with a tail, and has a huge afro with horns on the sides of his head which gives him the appearance of a bison. He comes to Japan to kill Reborn, so he can prove that he is worthy of becoming his own family's boss. However, he is a complete crybaby, and is no match for Reborn.
