i’ve only been back home since monday night, and i already feel depressed. okay, maybe not actually depressed, but just very bleh. if that makes any sense. i already miss california. i always get so much happier whenever i go, it’s like everything gets better, and i forget about all the stupid stuff i usually worry about when i’m here. and it’s so different. the weather, the people, the beaches, the landscapes, the numerous palm trees! i like it there. and going again reminded me why i’m planning on going to university there next spring. it would be hard, the rent is awfully expansive, and same with schools over there, but then, we only live once. why not just do it and see what happens? i feel like nothing is moving over here. and most people i know don’t even know where there going, or don’t care about it at all. how is that supposed to be motivating? i’d rather be surrounded by people who care about their own person, and their future. it might sound like a lot to ask, but then maybe it isn’t. whenever i go to california i feel inspired. everything is different over there. i’m people sure there’s a lot of rotten people over there just like here, and they simply hide it well, but then, at least there’s some inspiring ones. and this said, i still don’t know if i will go to university there. i’m contradicting myself quite a bit, right? well the thing is, i’m not sure whether it would be relevant for me to go to university or not. but then, it’s a lot easier to move somewhere when you first apply for a student visa, study there, and then apply for citizenship. and also, it would be just so hard. moving all my furniture and my stuff across the continent. finding an apartment. finding someone to live with. making new friends. getting a job (hopefully). fitting in. feeding myself. etc. etc. etc. but as i said before, we only live once. so why not try it? i get bored when things are too easy anyway. same with people, i get bored with them very quickly. unless they have something special.
anyway, now, let’s talk about my vacation there with my parents! it was my parents first time on a plane, so it was kinda funny. they were all nervous and freaked out. our flight was at 8:30am so we had to leave my house at around 6:30am. my dad didn’t wanna leave his car parked at the airport for the whole week so we took a taxi there. and god do i hate taxis. the guy kept talking to us about the most random stuff in the world as if we care having that kind of conversation at 6:30am. and his car smelled of cigarettes and dirt. and the ride to the airport was about 30 minutes long, and i didn’t wanna use up the battery of my ipod already so i just endured his annoying voice….! once we got to the airport we had to check in. and okay, here’s when it gets complicated. we made our booking through united airlines, but the flights were operated by air canada. does that make any sense to you? it doesn’t to me. the night before leaving i called united airlines to ask whether we’d have to check-in with them or air canada at the airport, and they told me i’d have to go to them to check-in. so this is what we do once we get to the airport. we wait in line for about 20 minutes, and it looked like no one was even working for them, there was no one around to help you (typical for american airlines, they often suck) and once we get to the check-in counter, i give the lady my reservation number, and she tells me in a very rude way that i’m at the wrong place. etc etc. so i tell her that the night before on the phone i’ve been told i’d need to check-in with them. and she tells me i’m lying, and she asks who i was speaking with. and she’s being very bitchy, and mean. i’m just trying to figure out my flights… not asking for a fight or anything. so this goes on for a few minutes. and we had already been waiting for 20 minutes, so we were gonna miss our flight if we’d have to wait the whole line for air canada check-in as well, so i tell her that, and she tells us how it’s not her problem if we’re stupid and clueless about the way airports work, and that we shall please leave her alone now so she can help other valued customers… i was seriously shocked. so i said “alright, bye bitch and thank you.” and we headed to air canada’s check-in counter. the line was also long, BUT they actually had people working for them. so we ask the guy, and he’s being very helpful, he checks us in right away when he notices our flight is soon. and then i see someone running towards us. it’s this lady we tried to check-in with at united airlines. and seeing her running on her almost 5 inches tall heels is kinda funny. and her dress was way too small for her. she looks furious! she comes up to me and screams that she is going to call security on me, and that my day is gonna end right now, and blah blah blah. i was just like “really….? have fun.” what the hell is security going to do. arrest me before i called their worst employee a bitch? she really was, so i have no shame. and security must’ve thought she was dumb too, because they never showed up. my mom was freaking out and telling me i shouldn’t have called her that, and was scared to miss her flight. but it’s understandable, it was her first time flying. but anyway, we still made it on time for the flight. i don’t regret what i said. she deserved it! you don’t get paid the big salary to sit on your butt and treat people like they’re nothing at all!
the flight there went pretty well! we had one of those planes with TVs on the back of each seat, so you can just watch tv, or movies. makes time pass by so much faster. i watched “i love you man”, it was hilarious. i also watched “ghosts of girlfriends past” which was alright. very funny at times. and i love that air canada has a meal service, and the stuf they serve is actually good, and they have a whole menu. of course, you’ve got to pay. but $7 for a chicken panini from starbucks when you’re on a plane? not expansive… i think it’s about the same price at the actual starbucks.
once we got to LAX, the ugliest airport i’ve ever been to, we took a taxi to our hotel. and then we were starving by then, so i brought my parents to panda express! one of my favorite restaurants to go to whenever i’m in california. it’s so funny because my parents don’t really speak english, well they do understand and can say a few words, but they’re not that great, so whenever we’d go out to eat i would have to order for them too and the people working there would get all confused. and then after lunch we went to the 99 cents store. i just had to bring my parents there since we have no such stores over here. they’re so much fun to go to. they pretty have much have everything you could ever want, for 99 cents… and they even have a grocery store. how weird is that? it’s a lot of fun actually!
then we went back to our hotel room, relaxed for a bit. i took a shower. whenever i fly somewhere i feel all gross afterward. and after we all got ready, i brought them to boring and cheesy Hollywood. i guess it’s fun to see once. but other than that it kinda sucks. it’s like 2 blocks long, and if you go any further you feel like you’re gonna get shot, or attacked by some weird person. and as you get further from the touristic place, all the stores you can find are clothing stores for hookers and pole dancers (and literally…) and also tattoo shops. smoke shops. etc. not very glamorous. must suck for people who think that hollywood and highland is the only place you can go to when you’re in los angeles. or for people who expect it to be amazing, and wonderful… when really there’s nothing to see. except for maybe the stars on the sidewalk… but those go pretty far off anyway, so you don’t even have to go to hollywood and highland to see them. unless you want to see the “famous” ones. my sister really wanted to go to madame tussaud’s wax museum, but we didn’t end up going. i can’t remember why.
then we went on sunset, and walked all the way back to the hotel. which was a pretty long walk. it was about night time by then, so the city looked very pretty. we stopped by in n out to get a few cheeseburgers and fries. seriously the best ones in the world! and on the way back to the hotel my sister and i took a lot of pictures with my new camera. remember this one tiny canon camera i told you about? it has a mode called “slow synchro” for the flash, and it does such cool light effects!
and this is it for the first day. i don’t want this post to be twenty pages long. so this is going to be it for now! i will tell you about the rest of our adventure later!
today i have a photoshoot for the new impolite collection! it’s going to be up and on sale very soon! probably by this weekend! i’m excited for you guys to see the new stuff, and hopefully you will like it!
