Aibu Saki was scouted in 2002 during her second year of high school for the Asahi Broadcasting Corporation's "Natsu no Koukou Yakyuu PR Joshi Kousei," or "Summer's High School Baseball PR High School Girl." She was selected out of 1000 applicants and after winning moved to Tokyo to further her career. As she was still a student, she transferred to Nisshuu Senior High and made her official debut in 2003 after graduating.

In the beginning, Aibu obtained mostly roles in commercials; in 2004 she promoted Japanese donut brand Mister Donut. She has also been seen in commercials for Glico, Acuvue, Kaou, Kirin, and JAL.

Aibu's first one-shot drama role came just months after her graduation. She starred in one episode of "17sai Natsu.", a Japanese drama that focused on 10 different actresses over 10 episodes. She also starred in the one-shot drama "Natsu no Hikari" the next year. Aibu obtained her first true starring role in the regular-airing drama "Donmai!"; this drama is considered her break-out role. Before that, she had a minor role in an episode of the "WATER BOYS" drama adaptation.

In recent years Aibu has continued to star alongside well-respected actors - 2007 saw her co-starring with successful actor and singer Nagase Tomoya in "Utahime," and for the spring 2008 drama season she co-starred in the drama adaptation of the manga "Zettai Kareshi" with Hayami Mokomichi and Mizushima Hiro. Additionally, Aibu is still in several commercials along with her dramas, and she has written for a number of magazine columns.
