[Floor 4] «Greede»

(100% Floor Mapped)

[Safe Area] «Parma»

A small town area located on the outskirts of the floor, Parma is directly situated on top of the land that was once used to be a mighty castle. It's broken walls now serve as a barricade the town from the dangers of the wild. The floor which was once a battlefield for dragons and humanoids have become wastelands with a certain glow. With the disappearance of these creatures, the floor became peaceful again. Fossils and remains from ancient technology can be excavated from various areas of the map, making this the ideal place for mining exotic minerals and lost technology. Many make-shift towns can be located on other areas of Greede habitable by players and miners.

[Combat Field] «Bloodtide Coast»

Like what any would expect from an aftermath of a war, Bloodtide Coast is filled with craters, lakes and ponds which gives new travellers an idea of how grand the scale of the war which happened centuries ago. These untamed wildlands are now filled with green forests and outgrowing mosses. With the area being desolated for years, not many aggressive monsters reside on land, but underwater. Land may contain monsters such as Bear Cubs, Biting Bees and Mandrakes, underwater is where the real threat is. Piranhas that gather in groups can kill an unsuspecting player in an instant, Hermit Crabs can use the camouflage skill to pretend as a rock and strike with its large pincers and Automated Humanoids that were once an instrument of war, now a berserking menace. Not many ventures forth beneath the deeps, but beyond the danger lies pieces of history and ancient treasure.

There was an audible "POP" much like thunder as a large blue etheric flash erupted on the fourth floor.

<<PARMA>> The message said

A lone man stepped out explaining the largeness of it. With a wild look of curiosity on his face he headed straight to the info brokers. The large man with his deep copper colored skin as rough as stone and blaze red hair as wild to match the expression on his face, walked up and the information broker looked worried but at the same time squeezed out a stuttered "Looking for information?"

Zuloo set his knapsack down and dug out a medium sized coin pouch. "I am looking for information, locations to be exact." The small information broker replied "I will sell you everything I know, for a fair price." Zuloo opened his coin pouch and handed her coins until she was satisfied. She pulled out a small scroll. Black cloth attached to the back of the pulpous paper with crimson piping adorning the sides. Zuloo picked up his stuff stashed the scroll in his bag and proceeded to the nearest inn.

He had no preference if it was the best nor the worst for he did not foresee him staying long or even more than a few nights. He paid for a room and then went straight to the bar. He purchased a large sum of ale and told the bartender "Hand these out to warriors of the day. The players that cleared the floor and that will save us from this nightmare."

As he left the bar he noticed more and more the fighters from the boss fight making their way to the town start. He headed over to greet them and congratulate them as well as to inform them he was here to support them.

And then there was a flash from the portal. He knew there were probably some that had made it before him but that was alright, he was here for anyone needing to fix up their gear. He stood very near the portal and in the center of the street as to be easily seen, though not needing any help with his natural figure he stood heads above most. His large physic and outlandish charisma was sure to get him noticed.

“Warriors, I see some needing drink and others needing repairs. I can help with all that ales you.” He said with a truly genuine smile across his face. “Drinks are on me!” Zuloo motioned to the bar that was putting out a sign of congratulations for clearing the floor advertising pre purchased ale until they ran out.

On the fourth floor, a mysterious girl comes out of the teleportation gate and takes a step onto the new floor. When the third floor boss was defeated, everybody was immediately notified about it. The clearing of a new floor brought optimism and joy among most people. That meant there was a possibility of actually getting out of this death game. Hope was in the air. Hope was the emotion that could shine a light in the darkness that Kayaba Akihiko brought upon them.

The girl was wearing a maroon cloak with a hood that covered her face. Her eyes peered around the area, examining the initial lay out of this new floor. The first thing she noticed about Parma was how it looked like an old abandoned civilization. This place seems like it would be a fun playground for archaeologists. There were a variety of plants growing everywhere throughout this town. If this was a movie, there would have been some sort of indigenous tribe living in the area. Good thing towns were meant to be safe areas, meaning PK'ing was not possible.

Right now she was interested in either gathering information or finding a place to stay for the night. The reason why she decided to come to the fourth floor was to aid the front lines in clearing this new floor. She was confident enough in her sword skills and practiced many hours until she was finally satisfied with herself. Her weapon of choice, the rapier was in its scabbard at her left side. She was glad that nobody seemed to question her hidden cloaked appearance yet. The cloaked girl continued to walk around the town, turning her head every once in a while to look at her surroundings.

The girl was wondering what type of people these front liners were like. Were they individuals who had high enthusiasm for teamwork, or those who preferred not interacting with others?

She could see around here were many players who looked weary yet happy to be at this floor. There seemed to be this one particular large looking player who tried to raise up everybody's spirits by offering to repair their equipment and saying that he would give them free drinks.

Nick got up the staires ad was amazed at how many players we're already on this floor.
This floor looked like it was from an older and fallen civilization, a lot of ruins, maybe a miners heaven?

They looked exhausted but happy at the same time.
Hmfp. He smiled. His sword had taken a beating on the last fight and needed repairs if nick wanted to keep using it.

A player started yelling. “Warriors, I see some needing drink and others needing repairs. I can help with all that ales you.”

Great, just what i was looking for. Nick thought.
He followed the player hoping he would make a fair price to repair his almost broken sword.

The blue light of the portal faded around Vyse, and his view was instead filled with a new floor. The town was old a decrepit, with grass growing through the cracked cobblestone alleyways and vines as thick as his arm encroached upon the sides of buildings. He stepped off the portal plateau and into the middle of the street. His new sword hung proudly on his hip, with it's scabbard as black as onyx, and the hilt glittering brilliantly in the sun.

Vyse was about to set off down the street when he heard a player shout out above the hustle and bustle. He offered repairs for damaged items and all the ale anyone could drink, neither of which interested him at this point. The thing he wanted most of all was power. He pushed past the generous man and continued on down the cobblestone street. After locating a general store and replenishing his stocks of red crystals and potions, he proceeded to the combat field gateway.

Wolf exited out of the portal, making his debut onto the fourth floor. Satisfaction fill his body as he saw the place fill with people. He had helped towards the cause of getting everyone out of this place. One floor at a time, Wolf was going to clear this game, no matter what it takes. He knew how to play his cards. Right now was time for light solo training.

He looked at the durability and status of his weapon. A warrior, slightly taller than he and slightly more muscular, stood before him and everyone else offering drinks and weapon repairs. His weapon was fine at the moment. During the early games, time and money is crucial by the second and col, respectively.

"Drinks?" Wolf said. He thought about how he drank non stop from floors 1-3. "I'm sorry friend, you just missed that train." With a quick flick of his fingers, he opened up his inventory. "Although, if you may, could you distribute these out as well."

Wolf set a trade for 6 full bottles of wine asking nothing else in return. "If you need me, I'll be North, training." Wolf put his hood up. It was one shaped like a wolf's head, cut after the top layer of teeth. Wolf had already taken three steps away but he stopped and turned around. "The name is Wolf. If there happens to be a small girl with cat like features looking for me, could you let her know where I am?"

At first, Wolf could come by as very shady and probably pretty scary to most. His face was darkened by the shadow of the hood but his golden eyes glowed. He knew this guy wasn't going to be afraid of him. He knew he would come seek him soon. Wolf was only going to get a new weapon once this one was low on durability. He knew he'd be back, he just wasn't sure when. And with that said, he took off North, leaving behind the protection of the town.

He took no damage and his weapons durability remained very high. But he still felt like he wasn't strong enough. He reached the exit finally. And then he just stood there, as if waiting for the grass to grow. What was he pondering at that very moment? Was he waiting for someone to join him? What was it that kept him standing there for that long? What was it?

Yuuki stepped out the portal and breathed in the fresh air that was tinted with sweat amongst other things. Taking in the streets before her, Yuuki always had to ponder just how these people set up their shops so damn fast. Wandering away from the blue portal, she starting thiking about what she wanted to do now. Yuuki passed lots of strangers selling everything you could possiblely need. Ranging from basic throwing knifes to full out spears, from mystical gems to even cooking utensils; they had it all. Peddalers sold their wares, with such perserverance that Yuuki wondered if they were actual peddalers in real life. But, no time to think about useless stuff like that.

Yuuki was aiming to find an enhancement shop so she could make her sword better for the new level. As she was turning a corner, her eyes were met with another street full of merchants, but she smiled when she saw a certain shop. Well, more like a certain item being sold in a shop. Located to her right, between a stall selling sweet treats and one that sold assortments of breast plates, was a quaint little store that had eggs for purchase. Her smile got wider and she all but skipped over to it. There were many different types of eggs, all of which contained a sleeping, growing, little dragon. The woman running the shop lit up when she saw the blue haired girl striding up to her. Extending a hand, Yuuki rested her palm on the clothed table.

"How may I help you?" The woman asked her, although the answer was obvious. Reaching out to touch an egg, Yuuki took her hand back when she found it was surprisingly hot. "The Hageshiika. A hot bugger, loves to set things on fire." She said with a chuckle. Yuuki greeted her and browsed the rows of dragons. As she looked, only three caught her interest. The Denmoui, Senbonzakura, and Nano-Ketsuzoku apparently, from what the woman told her. In the end, Yuuki ended up spending a few thousand col just for an egg; she wasn't even a beast tamer for gods sake!

But, the warmth in her hands made it all better. It was like she had finally made a friend after being in this goddamn game for so long.

As Yuuki headed in the direction of an enhancement shop (she had to ask for directions) with her new Nano-Ketsuzoku in hand, her mind did somersaults thinking about what she would do next. After quite some time and with busted feet, Yuuki arrived at the shop where she waited for her weapon to be ready. She took it with grateful hnds and gave the man his money. Inspecting it, she drew it from it's sheath to find that it looked odd; it was tinted a light purplish color. Deciding that she didn't care, Yuuki left to do the only thing she could do.

Train.

The hours passed by quickly, and Vyse had seen many players pass him by. More and more people were coming out to the fields to hone their skills and earn some extra col, and soon he would have to move further from Parma to avoid the crowds. He was starting to grow tired of people, and wished for some time to himself. He knew however, that the level was growing ever more crowded as people migrate from the lower floors.

An hour later, after a large group of players passed by, Vyse decided that it was time to move on. He sheathed his new sword, and set off north in search of a less populated area. Finally he came to stop by a lake. The large body of water was almost perfectly round, except for where it had a slightly jagged gash on the left side. Lush foliage grew all around, and sprouted into a dark forest just beyond the far shoreline. The water looked cool and refreshing, and sparkled in the sunlight, and Vyse found it very inviting. He stared at the surface of the water, and it seemed to call him, as if there was someone or something lurking in its depths, wishing he would join them. Shaking off the thought and coming back to reality, he soon set about hunting the local wildlife. Bear cubs were the most common monsters he found, but none of the beasts he slew were providing him with much EXP. Vyse was forced to make up for it with quantity, felling foe after foe. He needed to be stronger, and he was going to get there, even if it was little by little.

After dealing with a particularly large and bothersome swarm of bees, Vyse decided it was time to take a break. Swiping two fingers through the air, he opened his menu. From it, he produced a red crystal and set about replenishing his health. Once the crystal had done its duty and vanished, he made his way down to the shoreline of the lake, and plunged his sword into the soft earth. And there he sat, leaning back on his sword, staring into the deep blue abyss before him.

"It took you long enough," Wolf greeted the familiar warrior. He sat relatively high on a tree branch close to the other front line player. A big bone with plenty of meat still left on it, occupied Wolf's hand as he watched the water. "I'm sure you know the monsters that I intend to take on?" Wolf has yet to look in the direction of the other player.

"The current problem being this giant body of water." He viewed the round body of water, which to the left, was connected to an even bigger round body of water and seemed to continued on like that endlessly.

"The cubs here are too weak and the mandrakes are too easy of a target," Wolf spat on. "We could cross the lake and find some Biting Bees and later find some Automated Humanoids." By then Wolf had finished his 'meat on a bone' and took out another one. He threw the clean bone into the lake but it pixelated into the wind before hitting the water.

Wolf remembered his name from being in the same party during the boss battle on the previous floor. "So what do you say, Vyse?"

The silence was broken by a familiar voice. Vyse rose to his feet and drew his sword from the ground. Upon locating the source of the voice, he lowered his sword, but did not sheath it. It was Wolf. His large figure was hidden well within the branches of a nearby tree. He continued to talk, and Vyse listened.

"So what do you say, Vyse?" asked Wolf. As he finished his question, he shifted his gaze. His golden eyes glowing in the shade of the tree, he continued to watch as Vyse thought over his options. Finally, Vyse replied.
"You're a strong warrior. Why would you bother seeking help?" he said, not terribly interested in the answer. Without giving Wolf a chance to respond, he continued, "Very well. I'm growing tired of the weak monsters around here, and what you're offering seems to be more entertaining."

With that, Vyse sheathed his sword and watched of Wolf skilfully descended the tree and landed with a surprisingly light thud.

Zuloo, more than happy to see all the players entering <<Parma>> as one of the players came forward and showed him his sword, Zuloo said "Repairs are easy my young friend, and until I open a forge repairs alone are what I can do." The young warrior had looked satisfied but there was a look on his face he seemed worried. "If it's money that worries you, then let it worry you no more, repairs are not costly at all!" with that zuloo reached into the air scrolling down with his hand he selected the repair weapon skill and a sub-menu opened up with a list of materials all very common basic materials. Zuloo had been farming these for the first three floors.

While Zuloo was repairing the weapon another large man very close in height and size came up offering a trade "Drinks?" Wolf said. "I'm sorry friend, you just missed that train." With a quick flick of his fingers, he opened up his inventory. "Although, if you may, could you distribute these out as well."

Zuloo smiled and accepted the trade as the first players blade finished with a chime from system it glowed white and hot then dissipated like the morning fog. "I will gladly hand out the wine." Zuloo scrolled down brought out one bottle and the bottle looked so small in his hand he bit off the top of the bottle and proceeded to drink the whole thing. The large man walked off saying "If you need me, I'll be North, training." As quickly as he came he had left.

The large man shouted back after a few feet "The name is Wolf. If there happens to be a small girl with cat like features looking for me, could you let her know where I am?" Zuloo raised his hand hand in a gestured motionless wave. "You have my word Wolf, The names Zuloo, Zuloo the blacksmith!" He had shouted back. Zuloo looked back at the younger man who was getting his blade repaired the blade had took on a shine as it restored to its max durability.

"All done my young friend, Zuloo handed the weapon back ignoring him trying to pay him for it. Zuloo made himself look to busy to accept payment but in reality he just wanted to help the front liners. "Who is next?" He shouted and a few parties came up and he instantly went to work. These where your average players nothing like the young warrior whos weapon he had just repaired and the large man who had handed him the wine.

Blacknife sat in the corner of the bar not knowing what he should do. After renting a particularly nice room with a view of the water he had headed to the bar and had just sat there. No one had apporached him yet and he had been enjoying the drinks that had been paid for already. He had even gotten a bottle of wine that he had later heard had come from Wolf. He was surpised that he had not gotten any friend requests yet from the boss battle but thought that it was still early and trust was not easy to come by. Well into his teens in terms of drink he scanned the bar from the corner of the room.

He was stocked up on throwing knives again instead of those damn throwing needles and didn't know if he wanted to fight or try his luck getting into a party to train. Just when he had decided to go back and have a nap four people stepped into the bar that he really didn't want to see. They were from a group that was following him, and this was bad. Lowering his head and lifting the hood on his cape he sat there hoping they hadn't noticed him.

"Now how do you supposed we cross this river?" Wolf turned to view lake once more. To the left were stepping stones full of wet moss. Landing on one of those would definitely cause a heavy player like him to fall through. Even farther to the left was a waterfall that reached about 3 stories high. Climbing would be pointless.

He viewed the water to the right and while he did so he opened up his menu. Upon the completion of his searching, a notice appeared before Vyse that read:

Wolf Gilgamesh would like to add you as a friend

Vyse scanned the area, looking for a place to cross. The body of water acted as a barrier, stopping anyone from exploring the dark and lush forest beyond its shore. A message appeared in front of him. It was a friend request from Wolf. He Accepted the invitation before looking back out over the water.

Wolf and Vyse could walk around the lake, but the sheer size of it would mean they would be walking for at least a day. To the right, the water seemed to be shallow. Vyse could see small pebbles below the crystal-like surface of the water, and a school of small fish darted back and forth.
"The water looks to be shallow over there, or we could try our luck with the stepping stones." Said Vyse. Wolf seemed to tense up upon mention of the moss-covered stones. Noticing this, Vyse said "So i guess we'll be wading across the river."

Searching left and right, Vyse came up with an option to cross over through a narrow shallow on the right. A curved path of pebbles led the way from one side of the lake, almost to the other side. Wolf didn't contain any more vision enhancing skills other than <<night vision>> but that didn't seem to help the cause here. He was limited to what he could see and for now, they could only assume that the path continues all the way.

"So I guess we'll be wading across the river," Vyse said. This was the perfect time to try out his new bear fur breast plate armor that he picked up recently from a monster drop.

"We must travel quick. Piranhas infest this lake. You may be quick with your sword, but my heavy one might not be as lucky." Wolf viewed his 100% green health. He knew it wasn't going to be green by the time they reached the other side but they needed to cross somehow.

"Shall we?" Wolf said allowing Vyse the right of way. Wolf might be heavier than Vyse but his walking speed was close to equal thanks to his giant strides per step. Danger was at their doorstep, but it's the only guest Wolf invites over.
