Nick had recovered after amon had intervened.
So much for that skill. He thought but didn't abandon it.
One healing crystal later he got up and looked at the battlefield,
Wolf spun rapidly upon four minotaurs and destroyed them.
You can leave some for us... nick muttered and ran into the herd again.
Okay, time for round two.
He jumped up when a minotaur tried to attack nick again.
His blade went down on the minotaur, it's HP already in the red zone disappeared and the minotaur shattered.
When nick's feet hit the ground he saw an axe coming towards his head, deflected it with his sword and kicked the minotaur away,
it staggered as it was kicked and nick's sword came down on it.
It's HP went from yellow to red but nick wasn't finished, the attack he did was part of a 2 hit combo so when the second hit fell,
his target disappeared from this world.
Two more down, how many left? Nick thought as he looked around to see how the others faired.

As the battle dragged on, Vyse accumulated more and more wounds, and his «battle healing» was starting to give out. He was being too careless, and as a result, his health was now in the low yellow. He had to heal, or at least buy some time for «battle healing» to regenerate some health for him. Before he could formulate a plan, a sword blade flew at him from the corner of his vision. To avoid the swipe, Vyse had to duck and roll, but as soon as he got to his feet, another strike was hurled at him.
Vyse wasn't sure if the minotaurs were getting quicker, or he was just getting tired and slow. The minotaur brought its sword down with incredible force, but Vyse blocked and trapped the blade with his cross guard before planting the heel of his boot in the minotaurs gut. The kick stunned the enemy, but before Vyse could seize the opening and attack, another sword came crashing down from above. Vyse awkwardly back-peddled to avoid the strike. He was now facing two enemies, both of which began to charge forward at the same time.
Vyse was rapidly running out of options to counter the oncoming enemies as they closed the short distance between them. He had to keep his head or he would die here. He exhaled slowly, then activated «Sprint». Vyse reached the Minotaur on the left before it could swing its sword, and delivered a horizontal slash through the gut of his enemy. Using the momentum of the strike, he swung around a half turn and struck the Minotaur again, leaving a long, red wound diagonally across its back. Before the beast could recover, Vyse ran it through with his sword. The Minotaur struggled to free itself, but Vyse held it in place with a firm grip on his sword. Finally, he gave the sword a sharp twist and the beast shattered.
The polygons shimmered around him as they wafted through the air. Through the shining display, Vyse locked eyes with the second Minotaur. He changed his stance and held his sword down beside his hip, ready for the next strike. They both circled eachother, watching for the other to make a move.
Vyse watched the Minotaur carefully, waiting for a sign that the Minotaur would attack. For his next attack to be successful, his timing had to be perfect. Eventually, the enemy gave itself away when Vyse noticed the mass of muscles in its sword arm and shoulder tense. He hesitated for a split second, and the Minotaur launched a vertical strike. Vyse was quicker than the hulking beast, and with skill and perfect timing, brought his sword upwards to connect with the oncoming blade. His counter parried the blade, while simultaneously carved a sharp read streak down the minotaurs forearm. The wound gave Vyse the opening he needed. His sword began to glow a deep blue as he raised it above his head. He released the energy that had built up in his sword, and activated «Fell Crescent». The Minotaur barely had enough time to raise its head to see the shining claymore before it crashed down upon its skull, cleaving it in half.
Two more enemies were down, but the group was still outnumbered, and the longer the battle dragged, the more chance there was of someone falling victim to this game of death. Vyse shook his head and pushed the thoughts from his mind. He needed to concentrate entirely on the battle before him. He shot a look at his health and was glad to see that his health was back up at 65%.
All feeling of hope disappeared, and Vyse's heart sank when a blood-curdling screech sounded through the air. The noise seemed to rip at his eardrums, and the ground vibrated with the sheer volume of the cry. Vyse covered his ears to try and dampen the noise, and turned around to face the direction of the horrible screech. In the distance hung a dark blue shadow, suspended in the air by huge leathery wing. With each beat of its wings, it climbed higher into the air until it eclipsed the sun and cast a blue shadow on the battle. "This is not going well,"

Chucking his shield again to finish of the minotaur Amon swings around knocking another minotaur onto the ground with his sheild as it had come up from behind him. He then finishes off the weakened beast with a swift stomp to it's throat. Amon hears a blood curtling cry and sees the dragon suddenly rise up and was poised to attack. "EVERYBODY BACK TO BACK!" Amon cried out waiting for the impending attack. The minotuars seemed unfazed by the dragon's actions and continued to fight like nothing happened and while crying out A swift sword to the back knocks Amon onto the ground lowering his health to 75%. Turning around he sees multiple mintaurs staring at him with blood red eyes. "This is very bad" Amon thought as he stood back up. Amon tossed his shield once again at the center minotaur and it was immediately knocked away and did not come back to Amon skittering away towards Wolf. "Shit" Amon cursed as he tried to move around to get back with the rest of the party. But the minotaurs blocked him at every movement. "Get out of my way!" Amon shouted as he rushed shoulder first towards the group. Amon managed to break through the wall but was hit twice and his health lowered to 30%. "Somebody cover me!" Amon distressingly called out.

Yuuki parried another forcefull swing and pushed the axe back while she whistled sharply for Olive to attack so she could pivot herself to face the other attacker. Using the ground to push herself forwards, Yuuki flashed from her previous position to the next, appearing right in front of the next minotaur she had to face. Its gruesome face twisted into that of annoyance, crying as it brought the heavy axe up and clashed with Yuuki's own. Yuuki now had it one-on-one with herself and she began to slowly, agonizingly torturously waste precious seconds to bring the axe towards its holder. Finally forcing it off balance, the minotaur toppled backwards and staggered to regain its balance as it was overpowered. Yuuki took this chance audaciously slash it.
Across the chest. Down the right hind leg. Once more through the head.
Going for the finishing blow into the head, Yuuki stopped abruptly screamed as another pain seared like fire across her back. It began in her right shoulder and fled down to her waist in one swift blow, obviously coming from the other minotaur Olive was supposed to stall. Alarmed greatly, Yuuki dared to take a glance at the health bar. It had already been in the yellow zone, but was now almost licking at the red. Propelling herself upwards with <<sprint>>, she gripped her blade tight enough to turn her knuckles pasty white and spun. The minotaur on the ground looked confused and baffled to say the least, but she quickly ended the sickening creature as her sword shone purple and her eyes glistened with red. The already injured minotaur shattered into a beautiful array of crytals, the sunlight dancing within them.
Only one left.
The minotaur was not facing her and so Yuuki dashed forwards on the balls of her feet. The beast let out a shriek that rumbled deep within his chest as Yuuki stabbed and slashed at the vulnerable monster. The red marks left on the beast pleased her and she started laughing as she continued killing it. Its health was dropping, dropping, dropping. Yuuki's eyes widened in maniac bliss, pupils getting smaller and smaller. She was losing herself again, and Yuuki could do nothing about it. Her thoughts were clouded, telling her nothing but one thing.
"Die, die, die, die!" She screamed like a chant, continuing to laugh until she was so out of breath that she could not anymore. Once the minotaur was dead, Yuuki continued to slash half-heartedly and laugh just above a whisper. Her blue hair was now splayed all over her face, stuck to Yuuki's temple as the sweat trapped it. As a shadow began to cover her, she finally looked up, smiling as she caught sight of the looming figure. It began to descend upon them, hellfire reigning over them. Without realizing it herself, Yuuki began to walk, then run towards the dragon as she felt more and more jubilent. Now in a full out sprint, she continued on, not even thinking of how delicate her life line was as it dangled helplessly on the strings of fate.

The minotaur's numbers have been reduced to eight now, but the dragon had taken flight. This fight wasn't going to be pretty. Wolf looked around, crouched on one knee, and scanned his party's hp bars. The majority of them did NOT have green health, and the dragon hasn't even been touched yet.
Wolf's ear twitched as an object scraped the floor next to him. Looking around to find the disturbance, he noticed Amon's shield was right next to his leg. Placing his weapon on his back, Wolf grabbed the wooden circle. He practically jumped because of how light the object was. "I guess this is how normal weapons are supposed to weight," Wolf thought hearing a familiar voice scream for cover.
Three minotaurs were chasing Amon as he dashed towards Wolf. Two other minotaurs were behind Wolf as well. They were about to be sandwiched by the enemy, but switching targets would help them out. They were only three other minotaurs left, besides the ones that Wolf and Amon were close to. "Here," Wolf said launching the disc in front of Amon.
Two monstrous roars were sounded at the same time. One coming from Wolf and the other from above. Wolf needed time to think. Time to get all of his thoughts gathered, but time wasn't on his side. He let the five monsters close in on him as he went into his zone.
"8 minotaurs, 1 dragon, 8 players," A tiny golden object appeared at the corner of Wolf's eye. "Scratch that, two dragons. Low health. Limited battle field. River. Cave. Forest. Forest. If we can access the forest we can benefit in a battle against the dragon. Keep thinking. Keep thinking. Keep thinking. ARGH." Wolf's thoughts stopped in their track.
Amon ran towards Wolf and led the three monsters his way. Wolf stopped thinking, he was now a man without logic. A 6'5, muscular animal, relying solely on instinct. Something cut the air behind Wolf and he acted without thinking. His hands reached behind him and met with two wrists. His vision was blocked on both sides as two axes pierced his shoulders. His forced the wrists up and the two enemies roared with displeasure. As the blades exited his body, Wolf roared again, caring not for the fact that his roar attracts the enemy. With all of his might, and with his natural ability to fight, he flipped the two agonizingly heavy beasts over his body and slammed them hard onto the floor. Their health dropped only 10%, but Wolf was already awakened.
As Amon was now out of the way, Wolf began. He shifted his weight back, still holding onto the wrists of his opponents. Forcing them to the right and himself to the left, his massive rotation began.

Slowly but surely, the minotaurs numbers were being whittled down. Vyse had briefly caught sight of Yuuki amongst the fray of battle, and had heard the unmistakable roar of Wolf over the constant sound of clashing steel and battlecries. He was pleased to know they were still alive, but he worried about a few of his fellows that he hadn't seen in a while. His thought trail was cut short when a plume of blue fire engulfed the air above his head.
Once the fire had subsided, Vyse turned his attention skywards and observed the shadow circling above the chaos. The dragon, for the most part, had remained airborne and loosed a few plumes of fire upon the adventurers. However, as Vyse watched the great shadow, he noticed a sharp change in pitch and angle as the dragon tucked in a wing and began to spiral downwards at a rapid rate. Vyse's mind raced as he tried to come up with a plan. "I need to find Wolf," he thought to himself as he scanned the battlefield. He saw two minotaurs fly through the air and disappear again. With a smile, he began to work his way through the chaotic battlefield in the general direction of Wolf.
When Vyse broke through the wall of minotaurs, he saw Wolf swinging two enemies in a wide arc. Over the noise of the battle around them, Vyse cried out, "When you're done there, I need you to give me a bit of a boost, if you know what I mean," gesturing to the dragon plummeting towards them. While he waited for wolf to finish up, Vyse tried to keep the other enemies at bay as best he could.

Having plowed through the wall of minoaturs Amon's health had dropped very low and he thought that this would be it for him until he saw his shield flying towards him. Looking he saw Wolf who had just a moment after throwing back AMon's shield was sliced on both of his shoulders by the two minotaurs that were behind him. Wolf amazingly picked up both minotauts flipping them over both of his soldiers and started spinning them around. "Oh, I know what you are thinking." Amon smiled as he looked behind him and saw the three minotaurs still chasing him.
As Amon neared Wolf the minotaurs were a split second behind him and at the last second before colliding into Wolf, Amon slid under him like a baseball player trying to steal third base. The plan had worked. The minotaurs were so focused on killing Amon that they had not even noticed Wolf winding up and collided with the minotaurs Wolf was spinning around. Knocked on the ground Amon finished off two of the minotaurs that were chasing by swiftly bashing them both in the face but before he could finish off the third one Amon saw a truly frightening sight.
Looking up Amon saw that the dragon had started to make its move. It had tucked in its wings and started a rapid descent right into the middle of the party. Then he heard Vyse call out "When you're done there, I need you to give me a bit of a boost, if you know what I mean." "What is he up to? Amon thought. "The guy is either the bravest or the dumbest guy in this game!"

Wolf spun around and around until the minotaurs couldn't take any more. Wolf was practically dual wielding minotaurs as he attacked the three that were chasing Amon, bringing all of five minotaurs down to 40% health. It didn't stop there though. As Amon fought the three knocked down beasts, Wolf's rotation only got faster and the minotaurs' hp was dropping rapidly. As their hp reached 10%, a voice called out to him. "Give me a boost," were the words he heard, but they weren't Vyse's. Releasing the two minotaurs, they tumbled towards Yuuki, their health points reaching zero.
Wolf jumped into a flashback. They were on floor 1, the Starting City. It was Wolf, Roy, and and special little someone. The three were out hunting, after hearing they were trapped in the game. That didn't stop them though, as long as they were together, they didn't care where they were.
"Hey Fang, give me a boost," a heavily armored, two handed sword user said to the brawling giant.
"Hey," the brawler began. "As long as we're in-game, the name is Wolf." A smile appeared across the finely shaved face. His hair was properly kept and he wore leather, not fur. "Speaking of which, Roy, have you seen Alyssa?"
"Looking for me, fellas?" A tiny, 5'2, blonde haired girl leaped over the 6'5 giant. She turned to face him upon landing, revealing her baby blue eyes. Wearing nothing but fur clothing, the compact animal girl wielded a light rapier. "And could you please call me Taiga in-game?"
Coming back to his senses, Wolf headed towards Vyse. The dragon got closer and closer and Wolf wondered if they would make it in time. Wolf held out both of his hands, one on top of the other, facing up. Back straight, knees bent low, he was ready to dead lift Vyse high into the air. "Whenever you're ready." Wolf had no time to think about the past. He had to live for the present and plan for the future.
With my blade by my side, I'm never alone.
"Whenever you're ready," Wolf said. Without hesitating a moment longer, Vyse broke into a sprint heading straight for Wolf. He planted his boot in Wolfs hands and the giant hoisted him up. The acceleration was instant, and he rocketed upwards. As Vyse hurtled upwards, the dragon fell even faster, the two of them on a collision course. He watched the dragon falling towards him, closing the gap faster than he thought possible. Blue jets of fire streamed out the corners of the lizards mouth, trailing off behind it in long streaks before dissipating into thin air. Again it screeched, but Vyse did not flinch. The two were almost upon each other, and Vyse readied himself. With a swift flick and a twirl, he changed his grip on the sword, now holding it backwards so the blade protruded from the bottom of his hands. The dragon opened its maw, and a jet of blue fire engulfed him, but it was too late.
Vyse burst out from the plume of flame and smoke, and let out a savage war cry. He hoisted his sword up above his head and plunged it deep within the dragons skull. The momentum of the dragon continued downwards, but Vyse began to sprint along the length of the great beast. As he ran higher and higher, his sword carved a red streak along the back of the monster until he reached the tail, where with all his might, slashed the sword upwards, releasing it from the dragons body.
The dragon continued to fall, and Vyse, now without momentum, began to fall towards the earth once more. He spread his arms out wide and began to rotate. He knew he had to slow his fall, else he would die on impact. His flips began to slow him down, and soon he could hear the sound of his comrades fighting the minotaurs over the howl of the wind. With a hard thud Vyse landed on his feet, dust and dirt scattering around him. The dragon had tried to pull up and circle around for another swoop, but had been too close to the ground to successfully pull it off. As a result, it came crashing into the river, sending a shower of dirt and water into the air.

Zwei had been pretty defensive during the fight, and was in pretty good Health, compared to several of the others. His problem though, was that he was just too absentminded. He couldn't focus at all, and because of that, he just kept parrying.
A loud cry that sounded like Vyse dragged him out of his thoughts. Not long after, he heard the dragon screach and then the ground shook as the dragon hit the river, and the bottom of the river. Dirt and water came raining Down from above, and suddenly he was drawn into the fight again.
He suddenly spun around the minotaur, cutting it's head off With a long slash. He started to run towards Vyse, worrying that his absentmindness migth've almost killed him. "I won't let anyone die because of me!" he thought to himself. "How could i have been so stupid?". He was furious at himself, and he knew that somehow, he would be able to Direct that fury towards something else than himself. His sword started to glow as he got nearer Vyse.
When he got to Vyse he saw that he was still standing. "Incredible..." Zwei thougth to himself. "He actually survived that!".
He noticed Vyse's HP bar being way lower than he'd like. "Do you have any healing items?" Zwei almost yelled at him. He completely forgot his sword, and it was somehow still glowing blood red, revealing some of his fury towards himself.
He also saw that somehow the dragon was still moving in the river, though he couldn't tell if it were dying, or if it was getting ready to launch another attack!
He didn't wait for vyse to answer, but instead threw him a red Crystal and ran towards the dragon. As he ran he let out a furious scream, voicing his anger towards himself. His blade pointet backwards, and started to glow even reder, With the point tipping just a few inches from the gorund. "Better to kill it twice, than to let it attack again" he thought to himself.
The long battle had left Vyse with lowered health, but the fall back to earth after his assault on the dragon had brought his HP bar into the red. He was being careless, but as long as he could save his friends, he wouldn't mind taking a few hits here and there. Before he could do anything else, Zwei dashed past him and tossed a healing crystal his way. Vyse caught it and made a note to thank Zwei later before using the crystal to regenerate some health. When the crystal was finished, it broke apart in his hands, shimmering out of existence. Satisfied with his HP for now, he moved to follow Zwei in the general direction of the dragon. Above the heads of comrades and enemies alike, Vyse could still see the dragon thrashing in the river, great plumes of water and fire rising high into the air.
As he made his way through the mass of bodies, Vyse made as many attempts as he could to deal damage to the enemy, slashing randomly as he ran. The minotaurs were now almost finished, and the group could finally concentrate on the dragon. Taking out another HP crystal, Vyse set about replenishing the remaining HP he was missing. He needed to be at the top of his game if he planned on walking away from this fight.

"Seeing, a player do something like that..." Amon watched in awe. "And at such a low level! It makes you wonder... Maybe anything is possible in this sick, cruel world." "It makes you wonder, whether or not you actually want to leave this digital world. Go back to our normal boring lives, or stay here where a sword... or shield can take you wherever you want."
A loud thud snapped Amon back out of his philosophical state and back to the danger at hand. The dragon had fallen into the river and looked like it was preparing for the next attack. Swinging his shield behind him Amon smacked the other minotaur who had gotten up when he was watching the dragon. Then quickly disposed of it. With his health at 30% Amon couldn't risk rushing towards the dragon so he rushed to finish off the rest of the minotaurs. Throwing his sheild into one then jumping in mid air to catch it and finally with a twist landed on it shield first straight into it's chest. "Hey Vyse, you ok!?
Old times are good times
"Hey Vyse, you ok?" Amon asked Vyse as he dashed past. The question was simple enough, but the words stuck with him. Was he "ok"? Was anyone "ok" in here? Was there anyone content with the fact that they're stuck in a virtual world, and the only escape was either beat it or die? The world they now called home was fascinating, even beautiful, but knowing it wasn't a "real" world ruined any thoughts Vyse had about staying. He wasn't going to live in a world like this. He was going to free himself and anyone around him from the prison they found themselves trapped in.
"Nothing I can't handle," Vyse managed to reply with a smirk. Vyse finally broke free of the battle and out into the open field. The river lay just ahead, and in it writhed a great blue dragon. He was closing in on the blue scaled mass in the river, and could see the end of the battle like a light at the end of a dark tunnel. Looking around, Vyse tried to gauge how many allies he had with him for the next attack.

As Mizuko looked around, everyone's HP was really low, even the tanks. She couldn't believe this. One second everyone had full health, and the next they're down to like 40%. She knew that she needed to help them, but she going in would just make things worse. Racking her brain and thinking quickly, she suddenly remembered that she had stored healing crystals in her inventory in case of emergencies like right now! Quickly swiping her hand and opening her inventory she scrolled down to find out she had exactly enough for everyone in the group. As the healing crystals appeared in her hand she threw them each at each player from her group who wasn't fighting. "Heads Up Everyone!" she yelled when she hurled the crystals at the each of them, hoping they would catch it and use it in time. Then she turns to see Wolf and Vyse battling the dragon. They need more players than two to kill that dragon. she thought and rushed over to them, drawing her rapier which was faintly glowing blue.
Roses of the Night
Already changing the trajectory of her dash as she headed for the waters, Yuuki glanced as a flying object came her way, hurtling towards her head. Yuuki swiped it, keeping thought of it in the back, tiny little storage room of her mind to use it. Her brain was still caught in a whirlwind of little snippets of thought that she didn't bother to finish.
Many unfinished thoughts jumbled around for dominance in her mind, but Yuuki could only think about the beast presented in front of her. As she reached the water, liquid seeping into her socks and drenching her wooden sandals, Yuuki raised her sword with her stronger hand (that being the left). The dragon was preparing for the next attack. Standing up in its hind legs, the dragon let forth a roar, piercing slightly through Yuuki's well developed wall of insecurity. Going through with her plan -if there was one, at least-, Yuuki used <<sprint>> to get within striking range, splashing the water frivolously. Ducking under a swipe with the dragon's left wing, Yuuki appeared before the chest of the heaving beat. Yuuki posed her sword for a one handed strike, as her right hand was occupied.
"<<Savage fulcrum>>!" She whispered, piercing the dragon in a three hit combo, using her legs to strike even harder into it, cutting deeper. It ironically made the number 4 etched in beautiful, glowing red, a sign that Yuuki had gotten what she wanted. Taking a hit to her own chest as well, Yuuki's body was pierced straight through with its claws, her hp bar settling into the low reds. She hacked at its strong arm, forcing it to let go of the hold it had. She back peddled quickly, a Cheshire grin working its way onto Yuuki's lips as she found herself off to the right of the bank. She remembered the stone in her hand and used it, her hp bar slowly climbing its way back up.
Yuuki was lost; was losing herself.
